Hey guys, looking for a new toy. I'll spend up to 30k. All I can think of is BMW 3 series or MB c-class. Guys care to throw any ideas out there? I like luxury cars, but will consider anything sporty with decent power that looks good that has good build quality. Will consider anything 06+

135i. I just bought one that was a little over your budget but I think you can find one for under $30000.

Other newer cars you can get into for that price that would be fun to throw around on a track...

-Mazda RX8
-Subaru WRX
-Ford Mustang GT
-Nissan 350Z

Its really a non issue now as they have a 10 year 200000km on the pump so if it does go you should be ok for quite a while.

That seems almost too good to be true.

Took the words out of my mouth, BMW dealers didn't want it, there's got to be something wrong with it.

Its not a car, although on the registration it says Stationwagon  ,
but I got my 07 Srt8 Jeep for 28k with 50k km's on it.
Its loaded to the absolute nuts and is hoot to drive, plus its practical.

I took a look at that exact car, they gave me a carfax that was clean and told me that car is clean etc.. However i decided to grab a car proof and well this is what it came up with. http://reports.carproof.com/main?id=lRkPQdN0lvSFE8Io0Pv%2fdQ%3d%3d
I talked to the salesman the next day he said he didn't know what was going on and that he would give me a car back after talking to his boss but obviously never got that call back

Nah, want a fun car

Anyone own a c300 or driven one? I really like the look of the benz c class, but kind of worried that it might be sluggish and not have very much torque. Driving experience is high on my list, so thats the only thing im worried about with an entry class benz.

I might just say fuck it and get another 335i coupe. Maybe a space grey or black one this time with red leather, or an e46 m3 :bigpimp:

2010ish Acura TL-AWD?

Soft spot in my heart for one.

Plus I just helped a buddy of mine find one out here in NB for 34k with only 20k km's on it. I would imagine in a populated place like out where you guys are, shouldn't be too hard to keep the price around 30k or lower

I hate the 350 and 370!

What c class do you have? Is there much aftermarket support for these cars?

I love the c63. I don't know too much about mercedes though. What is the difference between lets say a non c63 amg and a regular c series besides the motor?

Not really. Mechanically speaking, everything from the firewall forward is different. The C63 uses the front end from the CLK Black Series, minus the coilovers.

Love the color and like that it's a manual. Seems rare? Price is low considering milage, compared to others I've seen. Maybe it has had multiple owners or accidents? Almost too good to be true.

Another good deal..

Non AMG C's are kinda boring to drive. Personally, I found the lower end 3 series BMW's more exciting to drive.

Lower end 3 series MORE exciting?! You are talking like 325I/328I/330i?! Honestly I didn't think my 335i was very exciting after a while. Wow maybe I have to drive a c class so I can take it off my list. They just look sooo nice

Guessing the reason that manual 300 is so cheap is because demand for something like that would be almost non existant. Most C class sedans are sold as automatic and 4matic. A manual RWD C class would be almost impossible to resell IMO.

Good call. I just now realized that it's not 4matic

All I have to say is that when moms got a 328xi as a loaner from the dealer during maintanance for the 335xi, she absolutely hated it, and she doesn't drive that aggressively. The way the auto tranny shifts in the 335 and the low end torque makes for an awesome driving experience. I didn't like it either, it was so gutless. Also I managed a better mpg in the 335 cause I wasn't always flooring the thing out of annoyance.

We then test drove a C350-coupe with the new 7 speed. She wanted to take a look at the competitors for a possible trade in.
First impression, the car was gorgeous, it really is. Especially the front end  The test drive however was a different story:

1. The thing would not stop shifting gears, it was ridiculous!!!! You press the gas, downshift. Let go of it a bit, upshift. The 335 holds the gear even if you give 50% throttle because the turbos spool rather quickly.
2. The exhaust note is horrible.
3. Lack of low end torque.

I really don't see who in their right mind would get a C350 over a 335 after a test drive.

But then we took a test drive in an S4. Wow. I still think the 335 is better at crusing duties, but performance/interior wise the S4 is a great car. The new S4 that is.

That's your best bet. I rented a C class on a recent trip, it was nice because I didn't have to relearn everything, but it was a bore to drive. YMMV, I find the 911 turbo boring in the dry, so I might just be crazy.
