I bought these on e-bay . They are from a shop in California. They were delivered to my door by Canada Customs . He charged me $8.00 plus tax for delivery charges. I was expecting to pay duty too .

Total cost was about $720 total. One local shop charges over $1000 before tax..

I'm happy

Sometimes they will ship it as a "Gift" and you won't have to pay anything.. This may have happened in your case.
Just don't go with UPS..

You might just receive a bill in the mail for customs charges in about a month. It's happened to me before.

The limit is actually $60 cdn for duty free gifts.

Consider yourself lucky if you pay no duties/customs. UPS screwed up when I got a hood shipped to me. I paid no customs/duties and only $46 for shipping!

Ive received the duty bill months later, so you're not off the hook yet.

Really?? I recently got like a $200 and I told the guy to mark as gift and I wasn't charged. That was about a month ago. I hope I don't get a bill later on.

I also ordered a chip from Autotech last September but he wouldn't put gift on it for me. Charged me $4.00 US for shipping and I didn't have to pay any customs. He even put the real value of $160 on it too.
:dunno:

Good choice with the Konis. I love mine!!

hmmm I called customs / fedex / ups because i was buying some items from america. Tires / mods / radar they mostly said if it falls into the NAFTA(north american free trade agreement) there shoudn't be duty on them. I asked them about Valentine one and Tires.

Same here. I got my Greddy catback and HS header from the States, they marked it as gifts/promo. I didn't pay any duty/tariffs and the total was well over a grand.

It all depends on where they are made. If they are made in the States or Mexico, you are unlikely to pay duty as it would fall under NAFTA.

If they are made anywhere, you might get the bill in the mail... even if it was a gift.

If I understand the CCRA website babble correctly, there should be no duty on Auto parts. Its sort of confusing babble though.

I know that I have never been charged duty on anything I've ordered from the US for my car, although UPS does tend to like anally raping you with brokerage charges.:thumbsdow
