Like just about everything, i dont know much!

red is the exhaust, the exhaust pressure spins the propellar, turning a shaft (shaft play, not good) spinning the compressor blades, that suck cold air, from outside and forcing it into your throttle body, or intercooler.

k that helped a bit...but what excatly does the intercooler achieve?how is a intercooler not like a rad, other than anti freeze doesnt run through it?
Any pics of good turbo set-up,that you can see in detail?

Shit, did you actually do a search for "turbo" at www.howstuffworks.com? There's a detailed picture on page three of the plumbing of the turbo charger in the car, with descriptions of all the components, including the intercooler.
Put a little effort into it.
