This is an authentic OEM part from a JDM Type-S Prelude. It allows you to retain your factory air filter and the fit and finish is OEM quality since it is a genuine Honda part. Engineering and R&D actually went into this intake chamber design unlike the aftermarket intakes which are just a straight piece of pipe with a universal filter on the end.
I had this installed in my Prelude and noticed a significant difference in torque, especially in the lower-mid rpm range. There was better throttle response and virtually no change in cabin noise.
I’ve tried the AEM CAI (V1 and V2) and SRI and I found those had worse throttle response, reduced performance in the low to mid rpm range, increased cabin noise considerably at WOT and low rpm, and gummed up the intake because they use oiled filters.
The part is in mint condition – no scratches and very clean.
I'm selling it because I've sold my Prelude. Pictures:
