Went to Italian Kitchen the last time i was there and food/service was spectacular.

Would highly recommend and it will definitely be within your budget.

Pasta and the steak were all great and fresh. We had a ton of food, i can rmr every single plate but there was not one thing that I or the others disliked at the table.

My wife and I always go for dinner at Raincity Grill in English Bay. I have no idea if it's close to where your gonna be, but the food has always been fantastic and it won't totally break the bank if you don't go nuts on wine and booze.

Tojo's for Sushi

JapaDog for hotdogs. Must try (Not for a fancy dinner but good hotdogs)

La Braisserre (Must try the Brasserie Burger)

Tojo's is special in other areas but I don't find their Sushi to be that outstanding, very typical considering the price.

Tojo's for $200, believe it or not, would be a stretch. I think I average about $150/person there. More than double that for the Kobe beef dinner.

Really? Tojo's is by far the best Sushi I've had in Canada.

I went to "Le Crocodile" while i was there a couple years back. Very fine dining, pricey but amazing food.... AMAZING food.

I urge you not to do the typical chainstores (ie, milestones, cactus club, etc)
If you're thinking amazing food, cheap price, little to no atmosphere:
- Japadog
- Noodle Box

If you're thinking amazing food, classy pub like atmosphere:
- Flying Beaver

If you're thinking great italian food, nice atmosphere, reasonable prices:
- The Italian Tomato in Richmond.

But here's an idea that I think would put you over the top with the GF:
- the dirty apron. (near stadium skytrain station)
You get a one hour (or more depending on what you pay for) couples or singles cooking lesson with a professional chef, then you get to eat whatever you decided to cook. Even if you've never cooked before you can make some top notch meals at this place.

Do you actually know the kind of food that she likes?

Nothing is worse than spending 200 bux for food that the girl doesn't enjoy. Neither her nor your wallet will be impressed.

Easy solution. Take her to a restaurant with type of food YOU like, then after sitting down, ask her if she's gained weight... she'll get salad no matter what the restaurant.

I really liked Joe Fortes when I went but that place could be over rated according to others.

Sushi anywhere in Vancouver would be good. So cheap, so fresh and huge pieces!

BTW, 89coupe would define broke as this so OP made the cut.

LOL, $95 for two sounds pretty damn cheap to me. Is this not including any drinks or something?

Are you guys all students on a budget or something?

My lunch tab is that much for two people.

A tiny bit overrated IMO but service is top notch.
