Is there any alternative to doing this without having to shell out $300-400 for the Matrox Dual Head to go video adaptor?

Guy in the 2nd pic doesnt use his Macbook display, i wouldnt really need it but if i can have all 3 on like in the first pic then that would be awesome. But I just mainly want to be able to add another 24" LCD to my MBP (whos current LCD is connected via DVI)

I run a 24" to my 17" MBP with a mini dvi to hdmi cable (I think that's the useless apple port). Anyways, works fine.

if you have a 2011 you can run at least 2 off the thunderbolt port, they will daisy chain, but your lcds must have thunderbolt too

if not, then there is a thunderbolt to dvi adapter but then thats only good for 1 lcd
