I love those Uber exotics from the 30's. Those Pierce-Arrows & Duesenbergs always sell for $300K plus (never seen one under $300 I mean). Some of them upwards of 1 million. They were quite honestly the Veyron's of their time, considering 60-80hp was the norm in the 30's, these 200-300hp supercharged cars were unworldly. Leave alone when they were for sale (30's). SO few sold, which is why both companies did not outlast the depression.

The Renolds Museum up in Wetaskwin has a '29 Duesenberg there. Its easily what you'd see in the Barrett Jackson.

Always REALLY cool to see all the perfectly correct, concourse restorations done on some of these cars. Blows my mind.... I just love watching it.

I'd give my left nut to own some of those cars, just incredible. They Fetch an incredible price tag too not surprisingly.

what i cant believe is the quality of car you can get with the market the way it is right now, great classics at very reasonable prices

I'm guessing it's a repeat but I just saw an early 1950's MB Gullwing go for $2,000,000

Not like we would ever get a chance to, but I really would love to know what they drive like. Shocked how much late 60's early 70's American Muscle has come down in price.

I saw that, but with 4,100 miles, Im not too surprised. 1 of 156 apparently.

A couple hours later they had a '46 Bentley go for $2.5 Million, same guy who paid $1,000,000 for that '59 El Camino for Charity.

He bought probably $10mil worth in cars that after noon, just fucking insane the money some people have.
That Bentley was crazy though, (for 1946) Frogskin door panels and all these other super pimp details were for the rich and famous. Even today that was an incredible car.

Like I was saying in my first post in this thread; yeah a couple Pierce-Arrow's & Duesenbergs fetched $2 million as well. Most were well over $400k

Im quite certain Im not capable of personally building anything that has the ilk to be in that auction. Everything is just absolutely *perfect*. No detail is too small.

If I had something like $1,000,000 to spend on a car, exotica would be the last type I would buy. I would be buying all the sub 50K vehicle deals I have watched roll out of this auction. I cannot believe how prices have dropped this year.

Speed had something like 40 hours that they broadcast live on TV and I watched probably 38 hours of it

Just happens to be in Phoenix over the weekend so we went to check out Barrett Jackson and I can't tell you enough how awesome it was. I was expecting to see just a car auction, but it was so much more than that. It was like going to the Calgary Stampede with 10's of thousands of people there. The auction was the main highlight however there were hundreds of cars on display like the Veyron, aventador etc. lots of modified exotics which was über cool. It is definately worth going to in person if someone is thinking of making the trip.
