Soundsaround is going out of business. Below cost TVs as long as you are okay with possibly picking up a floor model.

If any Futureshop/BB employees are reading this thread, can anyone tell me what cost is on a Canon s100 camera?

Just so I have some room to grind my local guy a bit.

Yeah but I doubt they put the real cost for employees to look at (for obvious reasons).

I used to work at bb and they do, that is the cost that they pay. The managers will use that number when making a deal.

Cool if it's true. I just know at certain big box stores, even the managers don't get to see what the true cost is for a lot of items, so they can use that number to make a deal, but even they don't know the true cost. Either that or they use that number to make customers think they are getting Cost + 5%, etc.

It's not the actual cost. There is still a bunch of mark up on it.

Nobody except for the actual purchasers (and anyone who needs to be privy to that information) actually knows the true cost.

Source: I worked at Futureshop for far far too long.

You also hardly get discounts on TVs cuz they're so close to cost. If you want a real deal come in BB and get an open box TV, say you've been told you get an additional $50 or something off and they'll usually do it.

Well what I mean is that the Cost "#" that you see isn't the actual cost of the product. It still has some mark up on it, as Spoons was pointing out. It's the same at the place I work at.

I believe you when you say you are getting that Cost "#" + 5% though.

I couldn't think of what electronics retailer was in Canyon Meadows and there's definitely not a Future Shop.

Indeed this is true. The "cost" on the screens is still cost+some markup. And BB/futureshop employees should know this because sometimes items go on sale for less than that "cost" price. I bought my TV under that cost shown on the computer, it was cheaper to buy it regular on sale rather than through an employee discount.
