Canadian Vehicle Manufacturer Gets Alberta Approval to License Their Vehicles in the Province

BOUCHERVILLE, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Feb. 20, 2012) - Campagna Motors, a world renowned Canadian vehicle manufacturer, finally gets approval from the Albertan government to register customer's vehicles in the province. Even though their vehicles have been meeting Transport Canada's safety requirements since 2006, it took several years to change the provincial legislation to be able to drive them in Alberta. To celebrate the news, two T-REX® owners are showcasing their vehicles at Melrose Café in Calgary until February 22.

"This is great news for our clients and potential clients who were awaiting that decision impatiently, explains Michel Paquette, Sales and Marketing Manager for Campagna Motors. We can now fast track our business development in the Central and Western Canadian provinces for our very limited edition and unique vehicles, the T-REX® R, the T-REX® RR and the V13R®."

UNIQUE AND EXCLUSIVE VEHICLES

Since their inception, Campagna Motors' vehicles have generated tremendous interest around the world due to their original design, three wheels reverse trike architecture and side by side cockpit, powered by world renowned motorcycle engines. They have attracted many celebrities including Justin Bieber, Antwaan Randel El from the Pittsburgh Steelers and Rob Dyrdek from the Fantasy Factory TV Show. Some vehicles were featured in Black Eyed Peas' video Imma Be, in the Mindfreak 6 television show featuring Criss Angel and in CSI: New York episode featuring Danica Patrick.

The T-REX®: performance at its best

The T-REX® is intended for the performance addicted crowd. With one of the best power to weight ratio, best handling (lateral acceleration), and sheer thrill, the T-REX® is in a class of its own. Attractive, exclusive and fast, the T-REX® possesses everything to make some Italian and European SuperCar blush!

The V13R®: a one of a kind roadster

Roadster designed for baby boomers, its unique style will appeal to unique riders. Using an All-American Harley-Davidson® V-Twin liquid-cooled motorcycle engine and reminiscing the past era with its Hot Rod looks, the V13R® is designed to be a very comfortable vehicle for side-by-side escapade and long runs.

It's just a slight twist on a Can-Am Spyder. It's kind of neat but I don't think I'll be trading in my motorcycle for one.

Street legal go-cart on steroids?

I think he might be referring to head height, from what I found the roof height of the t Rex is 1067mm. The seat height of a Honda Cbr 600rr is about 820mm which means while driving the T Rex your head is probably going to be at around the seat height of an average bike give or take a bit. So helmet or not you are going to be right in the line of fire.

Completely stupid vehicles but I wouldn't mind having a good laugh seeing them cruise down deerfoot.

Want the thrill of a bike without the thrill of a bike? Want The functionality of a car without the functionality of a car? Buy a T Rex!!!!!!!

I thought there was one in town already. Doesn't Melrose have one that's all camoflage painted?

Edit: I found a pic of it on someone's flickr.

Does anybody here know somebody with a Can-Am trike? Do they look like a giant faggot everywhere they go? Because I imagine everybody would look like a giant faggot everywhere they go.

Are they really that expensive? I had no idea. I assumed it would be around the same price point as the Spyder (~$20,000).

From what I've heard, these are supposed to sell new at about 55g. And I'm pretty sure that's US.

I didn't expect there to be as much hate for these on here as there is... but love it or hate it, 55g is pretty expensive for what is ultimately a recreation vehicle.

Doesn't Melrose have one? I see a similar one parked outside their restaurant every day in the summer.

Yes they do have one, it is amazing in person, pictures do not do it justice. From what I've been told the owners of Melrose are largely responsible for getting them legal in Alberta.

Answer where? It's obvious we were both asking why the article is suggesting they're not yet legal in Alberta when there are clearly some here already. So the question we're both asking is how is this possible. I really don't care if Melrose owns one or not, I was using it as an example to ask about the discrepancy.

And still nobody has answered it.

They have been legal off and on for several years, it's been a legal battle for a while and now they are officially legal.

you should have asked, "why can melrose own one if it is illegal in alberta"

Not:

which implies you were asking for confirmation that melrose has one which technically had been confirmed twice before you posted.

I don't think it was illegal to own one they just weren't legal for street use. ie: You can legally own an ATV but you can't legally drive it on the road or the road allowance.

These things are ugly as sin. To me, it's function is something of a sport-mobility-scooter for people with an inner-ear problem. Only idiots who neglect proper research would ever buy one of these over a built Caterham clone.
