$1000 goes to charity. I assume the rest is to cover the cost of the event at large.

I missed 2010, but I'm going to watch this year and a ride-along to boot!! Should be fun.

The Texas Mile is $200 and has hundreds of super-cars. For $3000 it would be much cheaper to drive or fly there and back. There's even street driven pickup trucks that will hit 200mph.

LOL couldn't have said it better my self. ZR should pay everyone who attends the event $3000 to hang out with him for the day.

Does anyone know anyone involved in the organization of this event? I know someone in the Cold Lake area who said he's heard this year's event to be much more low key compared to 2010.

Iam still on the fence, the last one I paid 1500 and never saw my charity reciept....3000 is pretty steep

Thinking of attending this with one of my cars but I agree with you Jordan its pretty steeply priced. I could go to Miller for a weekend of lapping with a new set of tires for alot less...

Hear, hear! I would want to know more about the "charity" portion of the entrance fee before signing up. If the bulk of the money is really going to a good cause it might make sense.

Really? That's crap. Not overly surprising, but crap. The only reason guys pay big bucks is because it's suppose to help our men in service. (assumption, as winning then being told that the speeds were not valid likely isn't enough for your hard-earned money! )

Somewhere the charities are listed, they do say all proceeds to charity but in the posted regulations it states $1000 of the fee goes to charity. That leaves $2000 to cover costs.

At 100 entries that's alot of costs, I had envisioned $2k based on previous fee, hard to justify double.

At $500 per run based on three events with 2 runs each she's expensive, cool event and I'm sure it will still be well attended.

Gees, who would pass up that deal lol.??

Dereks car has ~2700hp and hits 210mph in a quarter mile ;)

A gear swap, and for $5k, he would show up too.

That's pretty greasy, lure the participants in with the idea of a charity event and then not follow through? That seems like some low rent, pawn shop, Forest Lawn type....wait....nevermind.

They cranked the prices to keep "low end" competitors from coming out and embarrassing the $$$ hardware I am sure lol.

I might have gone at $1500, not $3000

Any prize money?

I might come up and help tweek and tune a couple cars though... Got a fairly serious buddy probably going, 1000+ whp

Which is quite unfortunate and elitist of them...

If someone is willing to pay the entrance fee then why not let them come out and have a day of fun just like everyone else, no matter what vehicle he runs.

Aren't we all enthusiasts at the end of the day?

The price will probably go up every year till there is only one participant... Pretty easy to declare the winner then...
