id be curious to see the price of some of this. they market it towards people looking to save money with a smaller place, but these probably have significant prices too.

Or downtown Van. This stuff would have come in very handy. Scared to see the price though. They should make this stuff cost effective, most people with tiny apartments probably cant afford super expensive furniture.

They are very expensive. A friend of mine in NYC priced out one of the queen bed units and was quoted $15,000 and it had a pretty thin crappy mattress as well.

That price is out of control. Why make novelty furniture for the wealthy when the worldwide market of people living in space limited dwellings are typical middle class. Ikea should pick up this idea and make their own line, it looks like their design style already. They could call it Biyunnd.

So you save $100g by buying a smaller studio, and spend $50g outfitting it with space saving furniture.

The products do look pretty awesome though.

At those prices I'd just copy the design and make my own. Looks to be fairly simple wood & metal work. $15k? Fuck that..... I didn't know it was THAT much. A perso could probably build their own for 2-3k tops.

Their yuppy target market probably doesn't know a thing about working with their hands.

Hence the perfect new furniture series for Ikea. 2k for the bed/table, with mattress. The target market is huge, cities are going vertical, dwelling space is shrinking but costs are going up. Making 450sq ft livable, airy, and functional is the future for urban living. It's like transformers for yuppies. Soooooo easily mass producible too. Seriously, watching that video are you most impressed with the furniture, or the idea?

Haha, I would love to see you guys build something that weighs 450lbs and has that a smooth of an action, in such a compact form factor, and is designed that well for "2-3K tops". Have fun spending the next ten years perfecting your engineering skills to even be able to build one
