I'm not actually going but I do know that Cadillac already has some vehicles there. I saw them get off the truck this morning. There was one that was based off of a Chevy Spark and then there was a slick looking coupe. I think it may be the 2012 Ciel concept but I didn't get a good look at the car as it drove off before I could take a pic.

I just heard that apparently the organizers thought they could do better business with targeted marketing. So, at the last minute they nixed the exotic cars for lifted duallys (you know, when in Rome...)

Well the same accord with a supercharger is at the autoshow.

Not sure what this exactly means in terms of factory warranty if you do install it.

Went today Saw both Brz and Frs you can touch them but there locked, also 2 458 a red and a yellow.

I was definitely impressed with the show...the BRZ and FRS being the highlights for me but like streethondas said, they're locked but you can get pretty close to them. I think the real disappointment will come when people realize the price.

All of speculation on things like autoguide, etc., hint that they want to keep it under 30k USD...like around $25k USD. Sadly, once you factor in the SUCDETIITBR (Standard USD-CDN Exchange Take It In The Butt Ratio), it'll be $30-35k CDN.

Most reports are saying ~$28,000 CAD to start for the FR-S, which means you'd be hard pressed to see one out the door for less than $30,000 and a fully optioned one would easily hit $35,000.

IMO the BRZ has to be under the WRX pricing (33k)

I think FRS will be $27k, BRZ will be around $29k.

Even if you don't like the cars, Chevy has the most impressive display this year. They had a nice concept car out, they had a small workshop with a mechanic assembling an engine, they had a ZR1 on the floor that you could sit in, and some neat cutaways of engines and chassis.

The 2 seater cooper S was interesting to say the least. The mini booth has definitely grown quite a bit in the last few years.

Biggest surprise was the new ford focus, they're finally consolidating the car, so the focus we get here in NA is the same one that they get in Europe. Great competitor for the civic and mazda 3.

The new beetle is pretty nice on the inside too, but I can't help but see a PT cruiser whenever I look at the body.

Even starting at $28k, would Canadian enthusiasts be willing to pay a 2k premium just for RWD (over something with comparable straightline performance like a Civic Si)? I wish I knew more about car buyers. To me it makes little sense to buy an FR-S/BRZ in Calgary when for about the same money you could get a Gen Coupe with 50% more power (maybe more at this altitude) or, for a little more money, a WRX.

I understand how they're marketing this car as a fun and nimble thing that's easy to drive at the limit, but there aren't many opportunities to put that to use in this city.

But I'm holding off until I drive it. Who knows, maybe it's seriously non-stop fun around the city. I'm not a car expert, it's quite possible I just don't understand. I'm ready to eat my words :P

IMO the kind of person that buys a Civic Si will end up with whatever cheap, fun car looks the best and all three of the above mentioned cars are better looking than the new Si.

I loved a group of "baller" 20-somes gathered around the tuned Accord and the one "toughest" guy talking about how much he knows about cars and yelling out like a complete brain dead moron "IMMA BUY DAT SHIT MAN! IMMA BUY IT! IT BE SICK DAWG!"

he then turned to the salesman and said "how much powa does dat turbo add bro?"

"it's, not turbo'd.... its supercharged"

Idiot just happened to miss the *sarcasm* teeny tiny */sarcasm* supercharger in the engine bay i guess.

Ive seen a handful of Veyrons at various shows, and they always make sure no one gets close enough to check them out and see the engineering, and they never open the fucking doors or engine lid, so disappointing.

I went yesterday afternoon. This was the first time I've gone during the week. I'm usually there on the Saturday or Sunday afternoon. I will never go on a weekend again. It was nice and quiet, no waiting to sit in a car. The only downside was that the sales guys had nothing else to do other than bug me.

I wonder what blower they are trying to use? I know comptech used to have a kit you could buy for the TL and modify to fit the 7th gen... but damn this looks like everything is there... got my fingers crossed that they actually start selling these, would love to have this on my stroker engine!

lol totally missing the point.

The point is you're in Calgary, the car show is organized by the Calgary Motor Dealers Association and Canadians in general and historically speaking are not exactly car enthusiasts.

So why even bother with the mindset and expectations of a Calgarian car show to be comparable with the Frankfurt car show that is organized by the Association of the German Automotive Industry? You actually think car manufacturers are going to invest their time and money in Calgary like they would for a famous autoshow like the one held in Frankfurt?

Couple pics I took. I really enjoyed the show this year, more so than previous years. The Fisker was really cool, as was the ZR1, Transformers Camaro, 458 (of course), HTT, M5, and the 911 turbo in the Tunerworks booth :D

I love how Chevy lets you sit in the $100k ZR1 but Land Rover won't let you sit in a $50k SUV :rolleyes:

I took our a 2012 charger with the HEMI. Was pretty fun... BTW their not salesmen so they just come with u for a spin to see how the thing goes...

And while I was shooting some photos of the new stingray some asshole walked right into me while texting and knocked my ass over and didnt even realise it. common sense / respect is fucken non existant these days.
