Like my previous builds i like be different (Goofy 18x10 white rotas on a subaru as my co-workers would say) why should this project be any different? lol i started off by picking up a replica spoon rear diffuser off a local member

http://i767.photobucket.com/albums/xx312/Guglianoh/c3c936ee.jpg

Test fitment

http://i767.photobucket.com/albums/xx312/Guglianoh/SAM_0042.jpg

No idea how im going to make this work but ill be praying to baby jesus for a solution.

Next i picked up a set of ITR Brembos

http://i767.photobucket.com/albums/xx312/Guglianoh/4481e37b.jpg

sent them off for a little "beautification"

http://i767.photobucket.com/albums/xx312/Guglianoh/SAM_0091.jpg

i also picked up a spare valve cover and had it spruced up

i also figured i had too much cash laying around so i placed an order for this

Since i ball wayyyy too hard authentic wheels were way out of the question, replica FTW! i ordered a set of 17x9 Varrstoen's should be in near the end of the month

http://i767.photobucket.com/albums/xx312/Guglianoh/Varrstoen.jpg

After owning 2 Subaru's i just couldn't go... to the point where im putting Subaru parts on my Honda, 06-07 STI V-limited lip and sadly this is not the only Subaru part to molest this Honda

http://i767.photobucket.com/albums/xx312/Guglianoh/3b760036.jpg

should look like

http://i767.photobucket.com/albums/xx312/Guglianoh/89a7244d.jpg

Im currently in search of a re-seal kit for my ITR brembos as a couple dust boots were torn upon shipment, if anyone knows where i can get a set please let me know

im also in search of a ITR head as my co-workers will not let me into thier "Dirty Idle" club unless i cam the shit out of her lol.

im also looking into getting some seats, i dont mind the stock type S leather seats there actually great but if i ever want an illmotion feature aftermarket everything is in order. im really diggin the Bride Zeta III's right now

http://i767.photobucket.com/albums/xx312/Guglianoh/d7c0895d.jpg

anyways i got some more parts sheduled to arrive next week so stay tuned! cheers

Feels pretty greasy, lol to be honest I have no idea I've never driven a stock one and my last STI had a GT3076 in it so compared to this it's pretty slow... I have taken people who have or driven RSX's and they are pretty impressed with the power that being said it torque steers like a mofo! Especially going from an AWD turbo to this I'm not used to driving it at all... I'm used to 5k launches with minimal tire slip this thing is impossible to launch. However it's sooooooo fun to drive and I love Vtec especially with the Kpro it kicks in much quicker, I don't miss the Subaru understeer or ugly Subaru interior.

And for anyone that's curious I had the powder coating at Calgary Powder coating and I don't mean to sound like a dick but please don't PM about how much it costs, this was a custom color so I had order a bunch just go in or call they will be more than welcome to help u out. Cheers

Haha grow up I'll take Vtec over spun bearings, head gasket nightmares and random ring land failure anyday, but honestly ur calling this a "down grade" but Subaru can't even make a oil pick tube that lasts that's real quality right there

Not a hater bro take it easy! To me going from awd to fwd is a downgrade for sure. The rsx is nice don't get me wrong but I wouldn't mod a fwd period. Why didn't you go for rwd or even an evo?

Because the world doesn't revolve around transfer cases and rear diffs

One idea for the rear diffuser might be to trim off the lower part of your rear bumper a few inches so that you can snug it up where it's not going to drag around town.

i removed the rear lip to minimize bumper trimming but that does sound like a good idea... im still looking for a shop that might be able to help me out, i try to be a DIYer but this seems to be over my head.

Older Hondas are awsome. I wish this was early 2000s. I'd buy a new ITR FWD over pretty much any AWD or RWD car under 40k.

Your RSX looks really nice. I'm sure you'll enjoy it a lot!

I was a little confused by this comment though. Isn't the FWD RSX going to understeer more than your AWD Subaru?

And are these the two interiors that we're talking about, or did I make a mistake?

Nice build!

Just out a curiosity, do you think it is wise to have the vtec engage at a lower RPM then from when it was from the factory? I heard people having problems, but that could just be on the j-series engines..

And do you get wheel hop? You should drop a J in there, it looks like thats the new trend....

Guglianoh
03-15-2012, 05:38 PM
Yes she does hop quite a bit in the lower gears, people have been tuning Vtec for years obviously it effects reliability but so do most modifications

J swap?? No Ty that seems like such a head ache to me

Maintinance day today, put the car up on all fours to get a good inspection on the whole vehicle (you only really get to see the engine when u purchase a car).

http://i767.photobucket.com/albums/xx312/Guglianoh/SAM_0105.jpg

im very happy with my purchase now, its very clean! only real issue i have with the car right now is the location of the oil filter. When go to pull it off if the engine is hot youll burn your hand on either the exhaust manifold or ur supporting hand from the hot valve cover.... and when you pull it off oil pisses all over the axle and control arm why honda :banghead: ill be looking into a relocate kit but for now ill just have to wash the car every time i change oil... which i dont mind at all  i cant wait to polish her

i still have a burn mark/scar from doing this on my right wrist left side when i worked dealership, there is actually a magnetic pan for RSX/TSX that holds onto the oilpan and it will flow down nicely, or you just cut a VTM or coolant bottle in half and it fits perfectly there.

or wait a bit before you do the oil change lol

03-16-2012, 08:53 AM
Every Honda that I have ever changed oil on its the same old story with the oil filter. The only real way to get around it is ,as you said getting an oil filter relocation kit, which would be TITS BTW!

Keep up the good work, Im loving the ricer goodness.

88CRX
03-16-2012, 09:54 AM
Yup, the oil filter is in the worst fucking possible location on the RSX or EP3. Definitely needs to be completely cooled down as your arm will be all over the header or valve cover. Filter relocation kit would be nice but the whole reliability issue of those kits kind of scares me.

And this is the problems with Subaru and the cult following that has developed. Almost every longtime Subaru WRX/STI owner goes through an engine rebuild or two and they all still maintain it's a reliable car. Having possibly the most fragile engines in the entire industry does not make a reliable car despite the awesomeness of AWD.
