So I am coming to a decision on getting my next new car. And have it narrowed down to 2 cars. They are fairly close price wise so want some good input on which you would go with! Thanks!

2011 Scion TC or 2012 Hyundai Veloster

You'll regret the TC once the FR-S is out, I'd wait.

Not sure about the Veloster but I'm no fan at all of the TC.

Aren't you the guy who always says "fuck this car" when talking about the FR-S ? lol

And yea neither of those OP. Im not sure what you are looking for in your new car but if you really want 1 of these 2 cars Id get the turbo veloster.

Gonna be 25-30 K I am thinking. Still a hell of a deal for what you get.

I haven't looked into either, but the first thing that comes to mind is the bad review Car & Driver gave the Veloster. Besides looking cool*, it doesn't do much else very well. Good luck!

* "Looking Cool" is used loosely because while looking a little different, I think the styling will blend in pretty quick.

+1. Gonna get a whole lot more value out of this than one of those other economy "sporty" cars.

Mustang. So much value in this car. I'd be a buyer right up to the top model, so much car for the money.

Only problem with the Mustang is that you'll buy the V6, but everyone knows you really wanted the V8 :(

I'd say wait for the Focus ST personally.

Yeah... and if you buy the Scion you wanted the FT. And if you buy the Veloster you wanted the Genesis.

There is always a higher model.

Not true.. The Genesis is a completely different car than the Veloster. I mean one being FWD vs RWD is pretty huge, plus the fact that the Genesis is a huge car while the Veloster is basically a compact is already huge.

Same with the TC vs FT... The FT's starting price is going to $10k more than the TC. I think TC is $20 or so and the FT will likely be $30 given that it's going to start at $26 in the US. One is an affordable and sporty FWD compact, the other one is purely a toy.

So completely disagree on both fronts..

Get the mustang v6 premium with performance pack (3;31 gears, gt brakes, suspension, wheels etc) and its still 8-10k less than the base gt which makes it a relative bargain imo.

There is always a higher model. It's a bit different when it's the same car :nut:

I don't look at someone driving an A4 and say "they really wanted the A6", but I see someone in a 328i and think "they'd rather have the 335/M3".

This only really applies to car enthusiasts. 95% of people are happy with what they have and would rather have the lesser alternative due to lower price, lower fuel economy, lower maintenance costs, etc...

The Veloster turbo is a pretty neat car, and I think it looks really good actually. The only thing I can see that's wrong with it is the hatch has a really small opening but if you're not hauling stuff around that's not a big deal.

Probably could pick up a N/A Veloster cheap, but they're slow as balls.
