I bought a fuse box for my car and its shot. The wrecker has 60 day warranty on all used parts. I want to take it apart to check it out before returning it, but they put yellow ink like paint on the bolts to make sure know one screwed with it. Anyone know what kind of paint it is....Looking to order some online for future reference

If it doesn't work just return it. I'd imagine it's just the normal gold paint pen crap you can get from micheals.

There's a board inside the box. Thats why i wanted to look into it. Its not a generic pen...as you can see its like a ink...

Hard to tell from the photo, but all the times I've seen wreckers do that it's been a paint pen.

Generic yellow paint pen. Oilfield supply stores sell them. I'm sure you can even get them at places like Canadian tire.

Wash the old stuff off with brake cleaner.

If it's shot then just return it rather then fiddle around with it. That's the logical thing to do.

Why don't you believe everyone when they say its a generic yellow paint pen/marker? Have you used one before? I've used them before, and clearly by the pictures, its is just a yellow paint pen that they push down so the paint flows from the pen into the screw so they can see if its been tampered with.

We're trying to help, but you don't seem to be listening.

I don't understand.

You buy a part.

It's defective.

It has a warranty.

Rather than return it you want to break into it, stare at it blankly, then re-assemble and bring it back, making certain they can't tell you opened it up....

That seems like a gigantic waste of time to me....

Mark OEM part that wasn't working originally
Return to wrecker, get refund
Use wrecker part
Profit.

Yup, knew a guy who proudly told stories of how he bought a set of paint markers that matched PnPs, and every time he got a part from the yard he would mark his broken original and return it for credit.
