Apparently Avicii's new show is designed for big arenas and it's coming to the Saddledome in July...

Interested to hear more details cause this might be epic, or a huge fail...

Agreed that show fucking sucked but I blame the sound system and whatever retard had the bass cranked up that high.

Then again the Saddledome has shitty acoustics as well :s

all age shows aren't the best. I've never been to a "big" venue other then flame central, which isn't even that big. most big venues anywhere don't have the proper sound systems unless its a festival and even sometime they mess those up. Im sure if the tickets aren't over priced it might be worth it to just sit and enjoy the show in the seats:dunno:

Aviciis tour is huge this time around. They're predicting 10000 people.
They needed to dome to accommodate the volume of people.
I'm sure tickets will be a bit but this could also be the first big electronic show to hit Alberta.
The next biggest event we've had was 7000 people split between two floors.

Elements is a much bigger event then Avicii, just because there are more people in one room doesn't mean it's a bigger show. The floor probably only holds a 1000 people.

I don't know what I was thinking but I ended up buying a couple of the floor tickets that were just released for me and my girlfriend.

Mainly because they added some decent openers in Chuckie and Swanky Tunes and because I feel I got ripped off with the shitty sound from his last show where you couldn't hear anything. It's like I haven't even seen him yet cause of that.

I just hope the stands fill up a bit too or it'll look pretty barren in there lol.

Just got the notification from Ticketmaster, concert changed from the Dome to Flames Central.

Floor tickets --> First Floor FC
1st/2nd bowl --> Mezzanine FC
OR Refund.

Yup unfourtunately (for the original July 3rd date)...but they also added the July 4th show (which is 18+), so that one is alcohol served. But still LOL!

Still better then 8000 people sitting in the dome at an EDM show that starts at like 7:30 and goes til like 11 lol.

Still, I dunno how he thought he could even come close to filling the dome, even if they could put half the seats into use, that's still around 9000 people plus the floor seats. Tiesto and Armin couldn't even hope to fill out that, they had like 5000 or less people at their shows. Frequency, Pure and all the Edmonton massives have around 5500 people attending, Elements had something like 10k people each day, how the fuck does Avicii hope to even come close to 10k people by himself. :facepalm:

The whole tour is in shambles. Lots of shows delayed, cancelled, or joined with festivals.

I think it has a lot to do with him just completing a North American tour a few months before announcing this one. No demand.

^That and because he's being too ambitious. He's a pretty big DJ but with this tour, he's trying to make himself bigger then Tiesto and AvB, etc. He's still got a ways to go.

I don't buy his reasoning for playing in stadiums, I think he's just trying to make as much money as possible but it's backfiring. I have a hard time believing that his stage setup wouldn't fit in most of the bigger venues and only in stadiums. Roundup is massive once they open up all the halls, Shaw Conference and the rooms in Northlands Expo center are huge, they can easily hold any setup. I have a hard time believing that he requires that much space, ffs, they even had room for fireworks at Elements, how can he not fit? Stadiums are expensive as hell to rent, it's not the best choice to go with the stadiums unless you know you can sell out. Most of the cities, their just isn't enough demand, especially in Canada. The Saddledome holds 19000 people, if his setup was so big that only half the seats could be used to view the show and some floor space was available, that's still around 10k tickets available. Elements couldn't even sell out and they were aiming to sell 12.5k and had much bigger headliners imo, went for 2 days and had multiple rooms. I have a hard time believing that even 3000 people in Calgary would go to a show that ended before 11 and they had to sit down for it. :facepalm:
