For the 2012 Edmonton Motor Show, the Lamborghini Murcielago Roadster dressed in the unique Rosso Vik makes a reappearance.

This LP640 Roadster has been previously detailed by Auto Obsessed for the 2011 Motor Show. However the vehicle does spend a large portion of its time out of the garage and as a result, another detail was on order.

A quick look at condition of the vehicle upon arrival:

With the amount of work that the vehicle required to look "Auto Obsessed" team work was essential:

The vehicle had an application of Swissvax Crystal Rock for the 2011 Motor Show, unsurprisingly the wax was still beading (Crystal Rock definitely lives up to it's name). As a result, we began by foaming the vehicle using Chemical Guys Citrus Wash n Gloss with a dose of Einszett W99 to effectively remove the Crystal Rock:
http://www.autoobsessed.com/shop/images/edmonton-motorshow/IMG_4152.jpg

The strong cocktail was allowed to dwell for 2 minutes before being quickly rinsed off:
http://www.autoobsessed.com/shop/images/edmonton-motorshow/IMG_4175.jpg

It was then washed with CWnG and a Gtechniq WM1 Merino Wash Mitt, using the 2 bucket method:

While the vehicle was being washed, Troy and Phil began with the wheels, using P21s Wheel Cleaner:
http://www.autoobsessed.com/shop/images/edmonton-motorshow/IMG_4380.jpg

EZ detail brush was used for the inner barrels while the face of the wheels were agitated with the delicate Raceglaze Brushes:
http://www.autoobsessed.com/shop/images/edmonton-motorshow/IMG_4390.jpg

The wheel wells were dealt with using P21S Total Auto Wash and a Daytona Speed Brush, Troy inspecting the wheel wells, ensuring it was up to Auto Obsessed standards:

Cleaned:

The exhaust was attended to using P21S Total Auto Wash and a EZ detail brush:

Next up was the Engine Bay, the Murcielago's intricate engine bay required exceptional care. Troy provides a run down of the detail:
http://www.autoobsessed.com/shop/images/edmonton-motorshow/IMG_4270.jpg

The Engine Bay recieved P21S Total Auto Wash to remove the grime safely from the Engine Bay. The throttle bodies were dull as a result of grime accumulation, so S100 Total Cycle Cleaner was used to bring them back to life:

The finished product:

With the exterior wash completed we began preparing the vehicle for a paint correction:

The vehicle was clayed using the Sonus SFX Ultra-Fine Detailing Clay and Glyde combo:
http://www.autoobsessed.com/shop/images/edmonton-motorshow/IMG_3694.jpg

The contaminants:
http://www.autoobsessed.com/shop/images/edmonton-motorshow/IMG_3701.jpg

Next the vehicle was tapped off, any edge or component of the vehicle that can be damaged/stained during the paint correction stage was masked:

Before we began, paint thickness readings were taken using a ultrasonic reader (because of the many Carbon Fibre body panels) to ensure the paint was healthy for a paint correction. Luckily the paint was in good shape:
http://www.autoobsessed.com/shop/images/edmonton-motorshow/IMG_3703-1.jpg

The correction:
http://www.autoobsessed.com/shop/images/edmonton-motorshow/IMG_3703-2.jpg

Because the defects were relatively shallow, a one step correction was in order using Meguiar's MF system with D300 correction compound. Trouble areas saw the use of M105 as a boost.

With the paint correction completed, Phil began with the interior and fine details. An exceptional amount of attention was placed into this area:

Phil began with the door locks

No shortage of leather was used in the Murcielago's interior, a combination of Leatherique Prestine Clean and Swissvax Leather Cleaner wash used, topped up with Swissvax Leather Milk:
50/50, notice the exceptional results (on the right) obtained by the Swissvax Leather Cleaner and Milk combo:

With the interior completed, it was time to apply the finishing touches to the exterior:

Phil cleaned the emblems using Griot's Garage Swabs:

...While I performed finishing touches to the engine bay:
http://www.autoobsessed.com/shop/images/edmonton-motorshow/IMG_4445.jpg
The exposed Aluminium was polished with P21S Finish Restorer:
http://www.autoobsessed.com/shop/images/edmonton-motorshow/IMG_4446.jpg

Finally, the vehicle was wiped down with CarPro Eraser, then an application with Swissvax Crystal Rock:

And now some final shots:

Being able to massage a neglected car into a showroom product is definitely a satisfying feeling. That's how I feel every time I finish my car.

Great job guys!!

And yes, you need a shop in Calgary so I can pick up some products!! Btw, wasn't your shipping charge to Calgary used to be $7?

After seeing the car finished you forget about what it looked like before, thats when you see the before shots and go wow!

No need to have a shop in Calgary, we ship there everyday;) The shipping has always been $12, we only charge what we get charged and don't mark it up. Quite low when you think a courier is bringing it to your door overnight delivery.

We did a major detail last year for the Motor Show and the owner just keeps it maintained during the season, and once a year gets us to do a full paint correction and make it look new again :)

We are working hard to get it done ASAP, it is not easy to create something to live up to Auto Obsessed standards. We will post the before and after shots of the shop and you will see why it has taken us from Dec 1 to complete this location.

We hope to open in 2-3 weeks...stay tuned!

Damn, there was a lot of removal with that clay bar. I've never taken that much out.
