I think his budget is ~1500. I don't know that much about cyclos bit I do remember reading that the Jake series from Kona is pretty awesome. He wants to use it for commuting and also going on the road with me. I suggested the commuting/shit bike + road bike but I think that might be over the budget and he also has a secure place to lock it up at work.

Everything seems a lot better on the Jake the Snake vs Jake but wondering with shoes, pedals, shorts, gloves etc if the Snake + gear is going to end up around 2K.

What size is he looking for? I have a Rocky Mountain solo CX hanging in the garage that hasn't been touched in a year and a half.

I'm not sure, I was hoping we could go down to a bike shop tomorrow morning to get him sized up. He's ~6ft, 200lbs. I'll mention it to him!

Buy a Jake the Snake. I have a 2011 and love it to death.
End of thread.

Actually, if he wants to keep within 1500 including his gear I'd buy the Jake. Still has 105 components and the same frame/fork/bb30/etc. Then pick up some slicks/pedals/shoes this weekend at the blue light sale.

Yea I am looking to pick up a cyclocross bike as well. Going to stop by bow this weekend to see if there is anything left.

Looking for a size 56 in the jake or tricross.

Anyone I should ask for at Bowcycle ?
