Im thinkin u live in the US? umm STi :D, but dont take my word for it , the STi and EVO are both awesome cars , but the EVO has a crappy lookin interior :dunno: .... For speed i think they are tied , but others would argue.


It all comes down to personal preference.

Evo owns the STi in pure performance... the STi has nicer interior and some cool toys, but I would go EVO if I could, the mod potential is much larger there too IMO

it is actaully true! the evo does own the sti on the track.. but i believe when you use it for rally the sti owns the evo. they are selling evo's in toronto for 39000 i think.. they are used with some km's on them and they come from the states.. well thats what it says on nasioc.com so im not sure

but if the evo 8 mr did come out, i'd get it over the sti

The STi is 300 hp. The EVO8 is 271. Both are incredible. Performance is equal. Buy what you personally prefer.
For me, I like the low centre of gravity and perfect primary balance of the 2.5 litre Subaru Boxer engine. However, I gotta say I like the extra roominess of the Lancer EVO8 interior, and its great looks. But one is no better than the other.

I have driven a used 03' Evo and a brand new Sti, as well as numerous WRXs. They are both 10 out of 10, with no clear winner between the two.

From what I understand in reading some articles, the EVO has more upgrade potential right now. There are a few more things you can do with the EVO, in playing with the computer, than you can with the STi. Right now, there aren't too many companies playing with the STi computer, because of the throttle-by-wire setup. So if you want faster NOW, EVO. If you want faster with a nicer styled stock interior, STi.

*ahem* haha its not the sti's who have that problem.. its all the subaru cars! but i rather have a weak windshield than a rust bucket cuz winters over here get harsh with all that shit they put on our streets

Hey all you sayin that the EVO is better fight this.. my best friend bought the evo and for shits i bought the sti (parents left me with a bit of money) dont get me wrong the EVO is fast but everytime we race i take him about a half car. its close but he still has to beat me.. both cars are completely stock.. so i hope that helps anyone who thinks the EVO is faster

No one ever said the Evo is faster. Stock for stock the STi is faster straight line.

Take it on to the track and the Evo will post better lap times. Additionally it has been noted numerous times the Evo is better in driver feedback

Mod wise I think the Evo is a stronger platform. There are a ton of modded evos and only a handful of STis putting down the same power - the rest have blown engines etc....

yes the sti will beat the evo in 1/4 mile.. everyone knows that but on the tarmac track the sti is the one being hunted. the sti owns in the rally world though!

The Sti is quicker in the 1/4 mile by a hair but in a couple of comparisons, the EVO is quicker 0-60 mph. The EVO is the better handling of the two and that is why it has won every comparison between the two cars in Car & Driver, Road & Track, Automobile Magazine, etc. Plus the Sti while improved (over the bug eye versions) is still kind of homley looking compared to the EVO. EVO all the way!!!!!!!!!

^^ haha it is good on tarmac but guess why they never finished the wrc season? becuase they cannot compete with the other rally cars.. the evo while good on tarmac sucked on all the other surfaces.. while the sti, a lil slow on tarmac races (probably due to tire choice) is good all around. so guess what.. STI all the way

95% of all EVO's & STi's will never be driven off road so your point is that the 5% that does, should get STi's. Thanks!:whocares:
