Anyone take this lately? What's the bus like? Apparently there's WiFi on board. Seems like a direct response to Red Arrow. Can't argue with the price though - $27 + tax one way for the day I want to travel.

I took it once, kinda sucks being on a bus for 3 hrs but no different than driving the speed limit when you think about it.

alot of people I work with, take the red arrow all the time... but if you couple in taxi costs, why not just drive or rent & drive?

The bus has a bit more space than previous Greyhound busses. Instead of the disgusting old clothe seats, they have leather/pleather seats now. The wifi works and I can't complain. Overall, its gotten cheaper and has more services, so I can't complain.

Might want to Check out E-Bus by Red Arrow. Since I believe Red Arrow launched 'E Bus' in response to Greyhound launching their 'Express' in response to Red Arrow.

'E Bus' = Cheaper Red Arrow

Apperantly greyhound has a new bus fleet, so should be better then their old busses. I drove by the depot on the weekend and all the busses I saw there and driving out were the new kind, don't know if they replaced all of their fleet it not

^ wonder if this has anything to do with Greyhound cutting out service to some of the native reserves ??

The few times I took the bus (to Hinton, Brooks) at night (for work) there were drunk native people in the back of the bus... I'm sure they didnt care about leather seats or WIFI.

Because flying barely saves any time... I absolutely hate airport security. Then don't forget how far away the Edmonton airport is and factor in the time and cost of a cab. Greyhound South Depot in Edmonton is actually almost exactly where I want to go.

And the cheapest fare I see is $216 on AC and WJ all in. Not only that but I hate through prop planes they use on AC. Their loud and uncomfortable.

LOL Greyhound sounds OK so I just booked with them, as it looks like their Express service might be much better than their normal service. Besides $216 - 27 = $189 = lots of fun at Boudoir Rouge.

I'd pay the extra for Red Arrow's WiFi and comfort factor.

Plus, it's safer lol.

Fuck, you're baller getting a C63 but cheapening out on bus fare?

C'mon...

This made me laugh out loud. Haha

Shit, all you guys getting the C63, makes me wish I had gotten that instead of the C350 like two weeks ago. Should've given into peer pressure. :banghead:

Oh well, soon enough I am sure. Congrats. :D

I drive down to Calgary and back more or less every weekend, so if it's the Sunday you're gonna be coming up, I can give you a ride.

BTW I did not lose my head, fortunately. But then again I was the only Asian on board so everyone was probably scared of me. But back on topic...

The ride up was fantastic! I mean, for $27, the bus went from downtown past the airport. Fuck you can't even get from downtown the Calgary Airport in a taxi for $27, and the bus keeps going for another 300kms LOL.

The bus itself looked refurbished. It was very clean, and had fairly comfortable leather seats that reclined, and TONS of leg room - definitely better than any of the turbo props that A/C has. The WiFi worked as promised. I used it on my phone and it was fairly quick and quite reliable (yes I don't have a data plan hahaha). I surfed Beyond with no issues. Driver was probably doing at least 120 I think cause he was blowing by so many cars. But it was comfy enough that I was asleep for 3/4 of the trip ahahaha.

The only "crappy" thing was that I had to take a shit on route, and there was no running water or wet naps in the toilet - only hand sanitizer. So if you do plan on doing the trip, I'd suggest having some wet naps handy or even a bottle of water. I felt really dirty until I got to my stop and made a dash for the hand wash basin as soon as I got off the bus LOL.

Unsurprisingly, the bus was 1/3 full between here and Ded Deer. It became more full after the Ded Deer stop but I still had the seat all to myself for the entire trip up to Dedmonton.

Just judging from this thread and overall attitude to buses, I think there's a stigma associated with riding the bus for some reason. But seriously, factoring in 2 additional rides from downtown to the airport, I honestly can't see flying being any quicker. That or most travelers to Dedmonton from Calgary are probably business travelers and because their employer pays, they just prefer to fly.

Would definitely consider the bus again. But hey, to pick up my C63, I'd ride with the devil himself! In any case, worked out really well as the seller's shop (where the car was stored) was only about 2 minutes from the depot so he picked me up and I was in my car 30 mins later. Yeehaw!!!

Haha sure. I'll try to get some pics on the weekend. It's dirty as hell after driving home in snow and sleet last night and this morning. But it just looks like any other standard white '11 C63 with P31... I also need some new rears before I can throw on the 19" multispokes. Car is currently wearing the stock 18s with winters (thank God for those).

Haha I know eh...

Well whatever, I like it and that's the important thing. It's a decent car to have for a couple years until I can upgrade to bigger and better things. :D

She looks sexy man. Love the colour, but off course I am biased.

I like those wheels too, but an aftermarket set would deff. be sexy. I am thinking about one too in some sort of black (matte or gloss), to match the whole black roof.

I dunno.. I guess we have very different tastes in wheels LOL. Just cruising the C63 aftermarket wheels thread on MBWORLD, I haven't really come across any set that I actually liked. I also never liked black rims cause to me they just look like steelies especially when at speed. Personally I think the stock 18" 5 spokes look best of the C63 but it's not like I am really getting a choice here hahaha.
