put in reverse on a jack with a brick on the gas pedal, make sure its in a garage that has a large over hang off the back and a glass wall... proceed to kick the bumper in anger

Put your head under the tire and have a friend back over it.

I think it's pretty tough to do that on modern vehicles although I appreciate the Ferris Bueller reference.

Drill a 1/4" hole into your instrument clusters clear plastic, then use a chop stick, or something else pointy, to turn the numbers.

Funny you started this thread. I have a 98 Chevy Blazer with about 255,000kms on it. The odometer is digital and recently it reset itself, so now my 98 blazer has less than 100 kms.

Sure, it just reset 'itself' right? :D

I've been looking for a good low-miled older truck for awhile, I call dibs when it's ready.

It's really weird, the dash has been having electrical problems for a while such as random warning lights coming on and off, RPM dial sporadically flipping all over the place or just not working, and the digital odometer rarely works, for the last while its just been reading "error" where the numbers usually are, then I was driving one day and realized it said 000003 km.

Go to a wrecker and find a gauge cluster from a less miled out truck and swap it out. Mine was flickering and it was annoying as hell, and when I put the "new" one in it read 54000 kms and change, my truck has approx 370000 kms.

On alot of vehicals mileage is stored in the bcm, not the ipm. so just swapping the ipm wont change mileage.

I use to have a 2000 Volvo S80 and the ABS module went bad. It caused the car to no longer track kilometers, it didn't reset the digital odometer, but if you were willing to drive without ABS you could also drive without gaining mileage.

It was the same if you disconnected it. Wouldn't do anything but give a bunch of warnings and not track kilometers.
