Bring it to the shop they can try to stop the crack from spreading more. It's worth a shot.

Im quite sure that can't be fixed, merely stopped but then you'll still have a cracked windshield no less. Id get it replaced. Crystal auto glass has always treated me very well for the fleet I used to look over. Well recommended.

Windshied Surgeons might be able to fix that crack.
They managed to fix a 6 inch crack on my BMW.

Well most of the windshield technicians will just try to stop it from spreading but since it is on the driver's side, if CPS sees this, they might pull you over (if they're an asshole). I had one like that and they recommended that I get a new windshield instead. Hope this helps.

Well this is new to me. I always thought that once there was a crack, you were SOL.

If it's less than 10", looks like it is, you can fix it I believe.

CalAlta Auto Glass recommends that if your windshield damage is smaller than a toonie coin or the crack is less than 10 inches in length you may want to consider repairing the damage instead of replacing the entire windshield.

Repairs take less then 30 minutes to complete and appointments aren't necessary. We do recommend that you call before heading down to check the wait time.

If you're in the South area, bring it to Cal-Alta on Horton Road. I've dealt with them in more than one occasion and service and work is always great. I'm not sure if that crack will go away completely but they most likely can stop it from spreading for sure.

$40 if you think it's worth it.

Three year old windshield in Calgary? New one, get it replaced once you feel safe. I normally get it it done on the week I am leaving on a road trip, at least then I can enjoy a nice clean view.

What is a new windshield worth in Calgary?

Not that much for my car. $375 for rain sensor approved, ~$300 without. CalAlta seems to have good references, probably take it there. Especially if it can be fixed for under $50. I can see replacement in year 3 or 4 when it gets all marked up. Other than this crack, glass is still pretty new.

Pics of how it looks after it's fixed? I've heard of some places doing such a good job that you can't see it (for chips at least).

I can still see it but it's not as in your face as before.

I did not expect it to be invisible other, since it was wet the last few days that I had it, some dirt already got into it.

Wife is heading over to Cal Alta today. They're beating Crystals on sale price by $10, which is close to 150off... So, $250 for a new windshield.. pretty sure she left it too long to have the crack fixed.... *sigh*

I worked with Cal Alta for years, awesome guys for sure. If there is a problem they will do what it takes to fix the problem, they stand by their customers. Word of mouth is stupid important.
