Anyone have a heads up on some great sushi that's within walking distance of Rogers?

Let's hear some suggestions.

What's your idea of walking distance? I like Shabusen, it's about a 20min. walk.

Tojo's is a 5 min cab ride, or 40 min walk. 3km away.

You gotta be baller to go there tho haha it ain't cheap. Prob the best sushi in Canada.

Actually, if you have a lot of time, that's even better. You could walk to the pedestrian ferry and take it a few stops across the river, then walk along the seaside, then it's like 5 blocks south.

That would take you over an hour, but it's a nice walk (so long as it's not raining, lol)

http://mikurestaurant.com/ is pretty good. They randomly scream stuff at you when you enter.

Tojo's was so freaking good when we went last fall. Miku was on the list to try as well but we never ended up making it there for some reason.

I'll put up another vote for Tojo's sushi, and on a related note the Wagyu there was quite good as well.

This round of recommendation was for a chick I know who was going to .......cough....coldplay.... lol She had already been to Tojo's and didn't have time this time, wasn't a fan of Miku, had been there as well. Oh well.

That being said, I'll be out in Van in July and I'm pretty sure I want to try Tojo now! Nothing wrong with a treat every now and then and it sounds amazing.

Thanks guys.

For sushi, the fact that determines "best" is how fresh the fish is. I forgot the name but there's a place beneath the Sports Mart by 7 eleven on alberni and thurlow. that place was pretty good. I think it was Japanese owned too. Quite pricey though

The basement place beside the Shangri La Hotel? For Vancouver sushi, it was well below average. Been there 3x, so it wasn't just a bad night.

I'm no fine dining wiz nor a sushit expert by any stretch but I don't care if it flopped out of the water, into a knife and onto my plate, if it isn't good grade fish and prepared properly it still isn't going to be the "best".....
