Much better off used at that price point

check out the marketplace on albertabicycle.ab.ca
Lots of racers will post their old bikes for uber cheap just to get rid of em (and most of them get stuff cheap anyways).

I got a set of tubulars ($300 value for $40 last summer off there)

That, or of course pink bike.

Decent mountain bikes don't exist under 1k. But used off of Pinkbike you could find a decent rig for 1-1.5k.

What are you looking for? Hard Tail or Full Susp? 29er?

Frame size?

This is on sale at MEC

Should be perfect for pathways, light trails etc, at a great price.

Go used for sure. New I'd say anything under $2K and you'll get unhappy with it fast.

If you get something decent you might be a little more eager to try some harder stuff as well, and then you'll be glad you got the better bike.

:werd: Cos remember my Bullit.. I wrecked that doing pretty casual drops etc and it was almost a 4k bike.
