10-10:45am: Meeting Crestmont Community Center parking lot. 12400 Crestmont Boulevard SW

10:45-11am: Roll out

12-12:30pm:

1. After the park pass pay booth, park on the right hand shoulder of the highway. Drive as far as you can so we don't have cars on edge.

2. After we gather everyone, drive to Cascade Ponds. (Exit highway, TURN RIGHT on to Lake Minnewanka Scenic Drive, and TURN RIGHT AGAIN, drive down the road and you'll see the wide open parking lot.

12:30-1:00pm: Lunch at Earl's or elsewhere. Those playing CCR will sit together.

I should be down. FYI. A person doesn't have to pay for the park pass, I haven't in probably 10 years, I just stick to the far right and go on through. :dunno:

(I know we should as it goes towards the parks, but if that whole thing about paying is a bit of a bitch for a group then thats something to keep in mind).

I usually pay because if they do the roundabouts and check that you don't have a pass when parked, you're effed.

I've been checked for a park pass twice. Once at the Lake Louise parking lot during ski season and the other time at Lake Louise Chateau on a summer weekend. Had a pass both times so no problems.

They have been cracking down on drinking and driving in banff as well! I wonder if the limit is .05, .08 or zero. It makes the difference of one drink on a hot day for a lot of people.

The BBQ idea sounds pretty good, but it is an additional workload for sure. With earls you are in and out as long as everyone pays up and doesn't try to deek out

^^never had a problem with people on these cruises ditching on paying, so i think that should be alright. we tried to do a BBQ last year but it didnt work out, most people dont really want a BBQ, its kind of a PITA.

I'll be continuing onto Kelowna after lunch, so I would imagine that I wouldn't need a park pass

BBQ is a total PITA. I definitely suggest we hit up any of the restaurants in town. I think we had 40-50ppl at Earl's last year? I'm sure they can accommodate us. We would have to break up into groups anyway.

You guys feel free to post away and take over the planning, I just wanted to start the thread.

I'll be rolling in my 911 so just look for the shortest Chinese guy there, can't miss me (or you can). I'll rock some dress shoes and my Kim Jong IL Imax shades.

So one strategy to CCR is to order more, I'm talking drinks, apps, soup, mains, desserts and drinks again hahaha :rofl:

Or you can be like my buddy, burger and drink, $25 bill. Most people will just pay the bill but he wanted to play for the $250 bill of 5 instead hahaha Anyway, another rule is, if you lose, you pay the bill but the remaining people will cover the 15-20% tip. I mean it sucks you have to pay already and having to cover gratuity is getting kicked in the nuts again ya know? LOL So this lessens the blow so to speak.
