I've looked around and so far I'm not seeing any fire bans in place.
Has anyone heard anything?

Google. Last I looked (last week), there's one around Calgary, but not toward the mountains.

They were lifted around Calgary, and most of Southern AB.

None yet near calgary. https://albertafirebans.ca/

However, as is becoming the norm, there will be alcohol bans in several provincial and national park campgrounds.

That's the site I was using.
Edmonton looks messed but calgary and southern areas of Alberta look clear.

I don't get May Long camping. :dunno:

Fire bans, alcohol bans, usually shitty weather.

This year we might be getting lucky with weather but meh.

Campers in designated campgrounds and recreation areas with built-in receptacles can still have fires.

...

The fire bans do not apply to cities, towns, villages or federal lands where there are no fire-control agreements.

Wouldn't count on it. There's always snow in the forecast for May long. ;)
