Was cruising Kijiji this morning and cam upon a very rare vehicle that might interest at least a few beyonders - a 1982 GMC Caballero (rebadged Chev El Camino) with under 18,000 original kilometers. Just amazing to find a 30 year old vehicle that is in this kind of condition - link (http://calgary.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles-classic-cars-1982-GMC-Caballero-with-Diablo-option-same-as-the-Chev-El-Camino-W0QQAdIdZ378984415) to Kijiji ad.

Last year for these and El Camino's were sold in Canada was 1982, last made in 1986. Finding one that isn't rusted away is tough enough - this one is like factory fresh.

From the ad - even the window rubber/seals are mint...

Embarrassed - hardly. That vehicle is so rare these days and being a GMC version makes it probably 10 times rarer than an El Camino and then one tosses in the fact that it is the Diablo version makes it almost impossible to find in the condition that it is. Most definitely, you will not see another one of these in this almost factory condition in Alberta and it will most definitely be a head turner at any meet.

2,654 Caballeros built in 1982 and what digging I've done seems to show that less than 5% of these numbers were ordered up as the Diablo package above - equates to 130 or so world wide. Now considering that most of these have either rusted away or have been crushed by now, there probably is very little chance of finding a 1982 Diablo with less than 18,000 kilometers on the odometer and even more so in Canada. Yupp, this is a rare beast indeed.

^ To think, the money I have spent on my Malibu could have easily bought this gem. Awe well, part of the fun is building the car anyways.

This certainly belongs in somebodies collection. I had no idea how rare this car was until this thread.
