Saw this micro car headed the other way on John Laurie this past saturday. At first glance I thought it was a Peel P50 like from Top Gear but when I got home and googled the P50 this clearly isn't it. Not sure what it is, but I got a kick out of seeing it so I thought I'd share :)

Bingo. When I saw the picture, I remembered seeing "that BMW" on TopGear, but couldn't remember the name of it.

They were talking about the Reliant Robin, then Clarkson showed off the Isetta, had May drive it into a fake garage and locked him in.

May: "I can't get out. Maybe I should back up."

Clarkson: "Yeah, go ahead and back up."

May: "Where's the reverse gear?"

Clarkson: "Hasn't got one."

LOL well considering they stopped producing them in the early 60s and they are collectors items now I'm sure you'll find a beater one to rip around in.

The owner's name is Steve. He lives out in Hawkwood. He collects and restores them. I believe he was looking to sell this one for about $65,000 if I'm not mistaken.

I saw one of these(mediocre cond) 6-7 yrs ago for sale in the bed of a truck at PnP. He wanted $3500. Should've snatched it up & flipped it for huge profit now...

65K is just ridiculous though..:nut:

Thanks for the info on what it was, I finally thought I had a cool enough spotting to share on here, sorry for the car-dvr quality shot of it but I couldn't exactly whip out my phone while I was driving ;)

Could EASILY get 65K at auction if it is as good of condition as it looks (hard to tell from the picture).

These cars are pretty rare. I saw a real nice one go at auction for 200K.... Two guys really wanted it with really deep pockets.

^ I was going to say $65k is a fuck load of money for what you get. I'd have a very hard time doing even $25k.

When and where did you see one go for 200k? According to my research the record price for one of these was set at Barrett Jackson in 2010 for $43000.
