Looks like my Hot Water Heater is on the fritz...looking for some ideas or help figuring it out??
It is not heating up the water. I disconnected it, shut of the gas, left it for 5 minutes, the reconnected. It fires up good enough, but only stays lit for about a minute, wherein the gas flutters once or twice. Then it shuts off. It then fires back up again for about 30 seconds, gas flutters, then shuts off, then tries once more. So I'm thinking there is some issue in the flow of gas?
The error code I get is, "The maximum number of ignition retries or recycles has been reached and the system is in lockout."
It is about 4 years old.
Make: Giant. 1 AMP, 38000BTU
It does not have a pilot. It has a WhiteRodgers Intelli-vent electronic control/thermostat on it.
Any guesses before I spend all the money on a plumber? Any suggestions for a decent plumber? we're in Okotoks.
Per the instructions I have shut off the power and gas for now.
