View Full Version : Good & cheap bike tuneup?

I picked up a used Trek bike a few seasons ago and it's about due for a tuneup. Should mention that both tires are flat although they will stay inflated for a few rides when I pump them up (inner tubes?)

As you can see, I'm not well versed in bikes so any suggestions are welcome. Basically looking for a shop that won't break the bank as a few inquiries har garnered $100 quotes for the tuneup.

First and foremost: -Eurotech (Roy is the MAN!)
Just as rad: -Bow Cycle (Rad guys! - especially in parts :bigpimp: )

Didn't find anything on my 'bike tuneup' search. Would you be so kind as to post a reference thread which is customary when declaring a repost?

I would also venture that this is not the hundred millionth repost. Notwithstanding your obnoxious reply, thanks for the suggestions.

Call Pedalhead in Avinita. Really good guys there. Explain to them what you want and ask for a quote. If you don't actually need anything replaced, I'd imagine they would do it for cheap.

He's actually a pretty rad dude, he's definitely good if you're in a pinch. Has helped me out before (will lend you his tools to get you going).

I've had good experience with Bow Cycle, I'm mostly a DIY kind of guy, but they are very helpful.

There's usually a guy that pitches a tent and does bike repairs around downtown Calgary.

Last time I saw him, he was in Prince's Island Park.

We've had very good luck with CyclePath in Haysboro, right off of 90th ave & Mac trail. They really know their shit and dont charge a ton to do a full tune up or whatever else.

Not too many bike mechanics really know how to tune set ups or get a bike running perfectly but those guys sure seem to. Been going to them for years.
