Not entirely sure what the Plot is from that trailer, but nevertheless it's a bond movie.
As long as it tops quantum of solace I'm sure it will be good.
Hopefully it's on par with casino royale

I've definitely been anxiously awaiting this, as with pretty well any other Bond film. The cast for this film is great, Javier Bardem plays an excellent villain. I hope the song for this film is decent; any word on who's composing/performing?

That's not asking for much. Every single Bond movie ever made prior was better than that one.

just saw on tv that heineken paid an HUGE amount of money for 'bond' to drink beer and not a martini in the movie...

I do love a good bond movie tho.

Respectfully disagree, I definitely understand that QOS was a bit of a left down coming from Casino Royale, but after re watching it recently I really appreciate how great of a movie it is.

And worst Bond Movie? Yeah right, Ever watched Die Another Day? Worlds not Enough? A View to a Kill?

i enjoyed quantum of solace. olga kurylenko is fucken hot! got dayum! and there was a sweet car chase to start things off, good plot twist, and olga kurylenko is fucken hot! can't wait to watch skyfall. wish i could just pay the theatre price to stream it at home on my big ass tv, surround sound, and undies on the couch

Where to start. Quantum of Solace had:
- a lousy movie title
- a lousy title track song
- a really lousy main villain (although perhaps The World Is Not Enough's villain is equally bad, or worse).
- a lousy bond girl, or at least not fully utilized
- a lousy plot
- uninteresting set pieces (that stupid hydrogen hotel, for example...)

But I would agree that The World is Not Enough is pretty bad as well.

There's a Bond Factor that plays very heavily in people's opinions of all Bond movies. There are always a ton of elements that only a Bond movie could get away with because it's Bond. If it were any other movie, people would be saying it's asinine and retarded. But since it's Bond, it's awesome.

But to be honest, I don't even remember what Quantum of Solace was actually about or what happens. So imo, that's the worst Bond movie to me.

come on how can you not like quantum of solace!! its awesome!

one hilarious scene, was when bond got his cc cut off and the brits sent their noob agent chick to pick him up in bolivia. they go to get a hotel and she brings him to this piece of shit. he goes "no way I am staying here." and she says "it fits with our cover of being two teachers on sabbatical"

So he brings her to the fancy ass 5 star hotel, he walks up to the desk and says "hello, we are two teachers here on sabbatical, and we have just won the lottery."

and then they bone! :poosie:

Exactly.

Bingo!

I actually had to watch it again last night just to see what people were raving about, or to see if I was wrong.
Nope.

what Quantum of Solace was actually about

The big reveal was... wait for it. Hoarding Bolivia's water supply. Oh no!!

or what happens.

Nothing. Nothing happens. The characters have no depth. No background. We're not really given a chance to care what happens to anyone.

The shaky cam and quick cuts of the first couple action scenes were annoying. (car chase being the first, rooftop chase ending in death of the MI-6 mole being the 2nd).

The plot didn't really go anywhere. I was fairly engaged up until the part at the Austrian opera. Then after that the movie seemed to fall flat.

How many more films is Daniel Craig signed up for ? After his appearance at the Olympics I think he'll probably be the most remembered actor to play Bond after Sean Connery...

How dare you forget Pierce Brosnan and THE greatest Bond of all time, George Lazenby?! :banghead:

Pierce Brosnan was a pretty good James Bond, but I think Daniel Craig is a more edgy, hardcore kind of Bond. Having said that, I honestly think he's becoming the best Bond in my books.

Hard to believe that Javier Bardem is sporting the blond hair! Haha! This movie looks badass already, I'm stoked.

Good choice for the theme. You can really hear Monty Norman's cues throughout the sample track, I think it's going to be a great theme. Pretty stoked for this movie.

Beginning scene totally grips you. Second half of the movie showed Bond as too defensive, takes away from his 'spy' attitude and makes him out to be Iron man or some sort of super hero. 7/10.

I didn't like it that much. It was so campy and cheesy in a bunch of scenes. Was like watching one of the old Roger Moore bond movies. The last 2 bond movies weren't like this at all, so it rubbed me the wrong way. Maybe I came into it with expectations too high... :dunno:

TBH, I never expect any bond movies to be amazing. My favorite bond movie of them all is still goldeneye, and nothing has beaten that ever since. I only watch bond movies for the cars, girls, action and gadgets. For those reasons alone, I'm still excited to see skyfall.

What? Epic car - db5. Car chase - first scene of movie. Q - yes. Bond girl - there were 2. Sounds like you walked into the wrong theatre

Q - yes - was so lame! - Oh sorry we don't have any new toys we don't do that anymore....so here is zoolander cell phone

Bond girl - there were 2 - there was 1...and she was in the movie for like 10 min?

More on the DB5:

http://www.damngeeky.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/James-Bond-Skyfall-1960-Aston-Martin-DB5-1-by-3-scaled-model-car.jpg

As a true testimony of the realms of 3D printing technology and the capabilities of this ultra-precise product design technique; the 3D printed Aston martin DB5 models created by Voxeljet (Augsburg-based 3D printing company) for James Bond Skyfall movie. Yes, the car that you see go up in flames during the intense action in the movie in-fact is a 1:3 scale model of the priceless 1960 Aston Martin DB5.

Saw it last night, I thought it was excellent. Many callbacks to the Bond films of old and Fleming's novels, it was very much a "50th Anniversary" film. The villain was really, really well played. I'll be picking up the BR when it comes out for sure.

Yeah I think that's a really fair score. By no means a bad movie, I certainly enjoyed it, but it wasn't great.

But then again, I've never been that into any of the Bond movies. The Borne series (minus this bullshit 4th one) are way better, and feel grittier and more real. That being said, Daniel Craig is easily the best Bond so far.

It's really not a traditional Bond movie. More plot driven even though it was a good but simple story instead of a stupidly convoluted one that you couldn't follow.

Some spoilers
They actually went a little into Bond's past and M's character is developed probably for the first time.
Honestly the DB5 scene just made me so excited. That IS THE BOND Car.

And my god! The movie just looked amazing! Especially Shanghai and Macau shots. I gotta visit there someday.

Heaps above Quantom of Solace but a tad bit below Casino Royal which might just be the best Bond movie ever for me.

I'd be surprised if they let Daniel Craig leave the franchise this early given the financial success of his Bond movies. I like him, a more refined Dalton.

Better than Sean Connery? I don't think so...

Kramerica

Great film, I think Craig's portray of a 'damaged' Bond has gone over really well. I don't think we'll ever get a bond as good as Connery because he defined the role, but Craig definitely made the right choice in having a different take on the character.

I didn't much care for all the "oh you're such a relic", "oh you can't even pass a performance review and should retire" nonsense. He's Bond! Beyond that, loved it. Seemed way more realistic than your typical Bond movie where Bond basically has a CS style headshot auto aim hack with a completely implausible plot. This one was more simple which I think made for more entertainment.

Ironic considering Casino Royale had no epic car chase, a car that was only in it for a minute before it got flipped, more limited action, no Q (I think?), and only ONE Bond girl.

"I've been trying to get out of this from the very moment I got into it," he told the magazine. "But they won't let me go, and I've agreed to do a couple more, but let's see how this one does, because business is business and if the shit goes down, I've got a contract that somebody will happily wipe their ass with."

He is contracted to do 2 more. Not hard since Skyfall made almost $530M to date.

Craig is 44. If they can pump out 1 every 3 years, he's be just short of 50 by the 5th movie. Can't see him play the role past that, especially how physical his Bond has been.
