It is hailing pretty bad in Calgary. Did anyone actually get some damages to your car.

It was just coming down as I made it into my parkade. Didn't look too big downtown.

It was pea-sized where I was.

It was bigger up north, but the hail was more like little melting snowballs than ice.

Didn't get any down south. Didn't even know it hailed

A heads up for hail... we had 1/2 " diameter ones coming down in high river, just keep an eye out if your toys / vehicles / kids are outside

Is it possible to write off a newer car for hail damage? Lets use a 2011 BMW 335i as an example.

With that example, you're looking at more than $30,000 of damage. I think that would be possible with large hail that damages most of the removable and especially the non removable panels.

Don't forget that if it hails badly, it would smash the front and rear windows and likely cause water damage to the interior and electronics.

I've got a lake of it out front, and one hell of a welt where one got me while I was trying to get a lightning pic... marble sized and hard as heck up here

Some were larger than what's on the pic. I would figure it would have caused minor indentations on thinner sheet metal cars up here in the NW.
