The officer, who has not been identified, approached and saw that the naked man was actually chewing the other man’s head, according to witnesses. The officer ordered the naked man to back away, and when he continued the assault, the officer shot him. The attacker continued to eat the man, despite being shot, forcing the officer to continue firing. Witnesses said they heard at least a half dozen shots.

the caption does indeed say 2 naked men were running across the bridge, yet the article makes no mention of a second naked man... seems fishy to me..

edit: reading it now, looking at all the captions it seems that both the guy that got shot and the 'victim' were both running naked across the bridge before the face eating started o.O

Unless you have a silencer, or a special Herschel shotgun, shooting is only going to get you killed.

Cocaine's a hell of a drug What do u do though? Pretty much your only option is to move to an island. They would never quit on the main land until they were out of food, and if they ate animals, you'd never outlive them.

Islands are only marginally safer than the mainland, nothing stopping a zombie from walking or crawling along a body of water onto an adjacent land mass.

Best best is head for a remote area with a winter that will freeze the bastards.

Albertans have a strange understanding of islands.. Im not talking about a clump of dirt in the middle of the bow river you can wade out to.. I mean an actual off shore island, lets say something at least a few miles off shore.. And lets make it salt water, a well known fact being that zombies dont enjoy salt.

...Yes there is the odd chance they could be on a boat that drifts away and lands aground some day.. But otherwise its pretty secure. Provided its sufficient to sustain yourself on. You live somewhere cold and now those bastards are crossing the ice like coyotes and you're screwed.. No thank you.

Fuck that shit. Hawaii would be the place to go. No zombies would be there unless they flew in. Plenty of fish to eat, plenty of land to farm.

Supa Dexta
05-28-2012, 07:51 AM
Thats a very short sighted strategy.. How do you survive yourself in a frozen environment? You can't grow food, you cant raise stock...

You guys are done for, and stay the hell off my island.

Hawaii is too populated. People would be wanting to leave the island to check on family on the mainland.. etc. The virus would be there in no time.

lellowrx7

Ice fishing Bro
Fish is rich in protein and you can easily survive off it.
The island is flawed.
Zombies can swim, I'm sure they'll adapt to salt water if needed.
Atleast the cold will hold them at bay, and even if they find you their bones will be cold and brittle. Easy to break.

Supa Dexta
05-28-2012, 07:58 AM
Can't be done. Give up the argument.

You can't survive off fish alone, you can't keep shelter and have items to burn in a place thats constantly frozen.

Was it really necessary to shoot the attacker, shouldn't the officer have tried to subdue him first? I mean it doesn't state that the man was armed. :dunno:

You go ahead and tackle a man that is eating another mans face.

I think the officer had all the right to do what he did, he gave the man warning, and when the subject continued to behave in a way that threatened everyone around him, he was subdued via gunshots.

FFS, he continued to knaw on the guys face after a couple bullets...

Zombies can't swim, but they can walk underwater. Pretty sure islands are safe from being walked to as the pressure at the bottom of the ocean would crush zombie brains. Only issue is if the virus is slow to start and someone infected flies there first. Either way, what's the point of running? I'm getting a cow catcher strapped to my truck and going zombie hunting!

I don't buy that zombies can walk on the ocean floor.. Even if they did sink, they would bob/tumble around some and I don't think their feet would remain pointing downwards, making any affective distance.. They're already slow enough on land with their feet on solid ground..

Not to mention if they were interested in fish, they would be constantly distracted in another direction.

Was this bath salt's brand name called, "Angel Dust"?

hahaha jk.

But yea in my Pharmacology class on Drugs of Abuse, the drug PCP was quite interesting.

I originally thought this because its common for users to have tendencies to eat other people, most commonly the face, and I believe also limbs.

If the cops indeed believe this man was on PCP, then yes, 6 shots was necessary. An effect of this drug literally shuts of the part of the nervous system that transfers pain signals. People have been reported to scratch on materials until their fingers are bleeding and shredded. Also people sometimes get caught staring at the Sun and as a result burn the shit out of their eyes but feel no pain or the urge to look away.

When people are taken in to the hospital for PCP it sometimes requires a lot of the staff to subdue the patient, as they display "super human" strength. In a normal person, one can only lift with so much power before the body tells the muscle to stop because the bone will break. Since in PCP users this is shut off they display strength beyond an average person.

This last trait can also be seen in people trying to save others from death. For example if you and your friend were hiking and a rock fell on your friends body literally crushing him. A weight that you could never lift before, could be possible because of your urge to save your friend.

While there are probably more details and specifics of all of this, this is just what I remember from class. So please do assume I am stating something as though it were "facts" like another beyond member commonly does ;)

People who have lost it to this point and can indiscriminately attack another person and do something as bizarre as this usually end up having super-human strength. Like how he shot him once and didn't respond to it strength.

Good luck, one officer would have been dead/injured if he got close to this lunatic and it wasn't like he had the option of waiting for back-up, this wasn't a fist fight, someone was being actively murdered in from of him.
