Just checked out the pilot and for a Canadian show it was really good. I think it might be the first one I've watched.

Watched it last night. Not bad at all, the special effects are actually pretty well done. PVR is setup for the series, better than most other crap on TV, especially with GoT almost done for the season.

No, but many departments, including Vancouver City have "patrol carbines" which is essentially the same thing, an M4 type rifle without the 3rd position switch for full auto fire. In a city filled with civilians, full auto is ridiculous for police anyway, especially considering a large percentage of all Law Enforcement rounds miss.

I agree though, they are rarely kept in the trunk, or the trunk lid for that matter.

Good show overall so far, I'm looking forward to see how well they can progress with the story they've laid out so far. Have to have something to watch once GoT is over this weekend. Boooo!
