Body part may be in 'suspicious package' at Conservative party headquarters

By Meghan Hurley and Michelle Zilio, Postmedia News May 29, 2012 4:01 PM

Police are investigating the discovery of a possible human foot in a package at the Conservative Party of Canada headquarters in downtown Ottawa on Tuesday

OTTAWA — The suspicious package at the Conservative Party of Canada's headquarters in downtown Ottawa appears to be a human foot, the Ottawa Citizen has learned

Access to the headquarters was cut off after the fire department's haz-mat team was called in to investigate a suspicious package at the building.

Police officers are reportedly guarding the main doors to the Conservative Party offices on the 12th floor. Reports says two men in white jumpsuits and masks exited the building around 1:45 p.m. pushing a large barrel.

The officers moved their attention the 12th floor after more than a dozen emergency vehicles and the haz-mat team arrived to investigate the suspicious package at the building.

The Conservative Party of Canada did not answer calls for more information about the situation.

Ottawa Police say they are still investigating a suspicious package at 130 Albert St. and would not confirm whether the 12th floor was under quarantine.

Maybe one day you'll be befallen by tragedy and people will just sit around and make shitty jokes about your plight.

I normally couldn't care, but I automatically feel horrible thinking of what a person/relatives would go through in a situation where either somebody mutilated the corpse of their father/mother or murdered someones son/daughter or what it would be like to get sadistically murdered.

Think about how you would feel if that was your own mothers body parts getting sent around in the mail.

While that's true, I don't think anyone is going to feel worse because some jackasses on the net are making puns. They are already at rock bottom, we can't hurt them.

Therefore, we aren't hurting anyone, and this is a well established method of dealing with disturbing or traumatic information.

In short, go fist yourself. No foot jokes come to mind, however, I'm enjoying what I've seen so far.

It seems the authorities have this situation well in hand now. At least I hope they have a grip on the situation. It's always hard to tell when evil's afoot like this, but maybe the perpetrator will feel the need to confess and get this whole matter off their chest.

Now, I have to get back to making lunch. Pan fried sole with garlic butter, with some basmati rice on the side.

Wow. This went from funny to fucking disturbing right quick. (I honestly thought it was some medical students prank from Montreal)... but...

Turns out this guy made a snuff film and put it on the internet last week.

(description of video in spoiler mode, because it's fucking fucked right the fuck up... seriously, work warning, kids warning, everything warning)
The 1 Lunatic 1 Ice Pick Video is filmed in a dimply lit room. A naked male is seen tied to a frame of bed while his captor stabs him in the abdomen with an ice pick. The victim is them seen with his throat slashed as his captor proceeds to slowly slice various parts of his body with a knife.

Later in the video, the victim is entirely decapitated and the captor uses his kitchen knife to cut into the muscles and dismember one limb after another. The murderer plays with severed limbs and even rubs his crotch area with them. It must have turned him on because the next thing he does is flip the dismembered, decapitated corpse on its front and fuck it in the ass from behind.

Using a knife and fork, the murderer then slices a piece of fatty flesh from victim’s ass and presumably eats it before bringing a hungry dog in to also feast on freshly killed man. The black and white pooch could not resist the smell of raw flesh and bit right into the stump.

Once pooch was done, the murderer stuck a bottle neck up dismembered man’s anus and repeatedly assfucked him with it. Putting the severed hand into use once more, the murderer laid on his bed pantless and masturbated with it.

Nationwide manhunt underway for Luka Rocco Magnotta as police search for missing body parts

Graeme Hamilton May 30, 2012 – 11:08 PM ET | Last Updated: May 30, 2012 11:48 PM ET

The police had finished their work inside and Apartment 208 was pretty much stripped bare, but the stomach-turning stench and darkened red stain on the mattress left little doubt that something terrible had happened here.

“The smell of death is not funny,” Eric Schorer, the building’s superintendent, said as he opened the door Wednesday afternoon. “If you look at the bed, that’s where it happened.”

Within hours, Montreal police would issue a Wanted bulletin for the tenant of the one-room apartment, 29-year-old Luka Rocco Magnotta, sought for one of the most gruesome killings in Montreal in recent memory.

Not only was the unidentified victim dismembered, not only were two body parts apparently mailed to political parties in Ottawa, but it has emerged that the killer filmed his crime and posted it on the Internet. The snuff film titled 1 Lunatic 1 Ice Pick, depicting the dismemberment of an Asian male body and various indignities to the remains, has provoked online debate about its veracity since it was posted last week. Police have confirmed the video depicts the actual crime.

A janitor had stumbled on the victim’s torso Tuesday when investigating a foul smell coming from a suitcase thrown out in an alley behind an apartment in Montreal’s Snowdon neighbourhood. The same day, federal Conservative Party headquarters in Ottawa received a Canada Post parcel containing a human foot, and police discovered a second package containing a hand in an Ottawa postal station. That package was addressed to the Liberal Party of Canada.

Montreal police said in a statement that “concrete elements allow police to believe” that the Ottawa and Montreal incidents are connected, but pathology tests are being conducted for confirmation.

Mr. Magnotta, who has also been known as Eric Clinton Newman and Vladimir Romanov, has left abundant traces on the Internet. A Toronto native, he had worked in gay porn and as a model, but more recently he attracted attention after being linked to a 2010 online video showing kittens being suffocated with the aid of a vacuum cleaner.

A blog attributed to him and titled “Necrophilia Serial Killer Luka Magnotta” included this March 2012 post:

“It’s not cool to the world being a necrophiliac. It’s bloody lonely. But I dont (sic) really care, I have never cared what people thought of me, most people are judgemental idiots. I’m unable to talk to anybody about it and there’s always the knowledge that 99% of people would be repulsed by me if they found out about my feelings. Some people would even want to harm me.”

In a 2007 interview with the Toronto Sun, Mr. Magnotta denied online rumours that he was in a relationship with notorious schoolgirl killer Karla Homolka. Montreal police spokesman Ian Lafrenière said Wednesday that police believe he “could have been a good friend” of Homolka in the past.

He had moved into his Décarie Boulevard apartment about four months ago, Mr. Schorer said. The building, built as an apartment-hotel for Expo ’67, now rents out furnished flats for $490-a-month and attracts residents from newly arrived immigrants and students to drug addicts. After the janitor found the torso Tuesday, police went over the building’s five security cameras and asked Mr. Schorer to identify a man putting something in the building’s garbage. “I said, that’s the guy in 208,” he said.

After a Google search turned up evidence of Mr. Magnotta’s film career, he had become known in the building as Porn Star. He rarely spoke to the other residents, but Mr. Schorer said he was friendly enough and always paid his rent on time.

“He seemed like a really nice guy, really,” he said. “It’s like you see on TV all the time.… It’s almost a cliché or a joke.”

Neighbour Derek MacKinnon, an actor whose best-known role was as a killer in the 1980 slasher film Terror Train, was one of the few people who struck up a conversation with Mr. Magnotta.

“One day we talked, and I said, ‘You and I have something in common. We’re both in film, but I’m not in the same kind of film world you’re in.’ He just laughed,” Mr. MacKinnon said. Later Mr. Magnotta confided that he was worried about his porn career haunting him forever and asked for advice about getting into “legitimate” movies.

Then about five days ago, he invited Mr. MacKinnon up to his apartment as they sat on the front step, where resident gather on warm nights to drink beer. “He said, ‘You’ve never been to my apartment, why don’t you come up?’ And I didn’t, thank God.”

Richard Payette was running his air conditioner full blast Wednesday to fend off the smell coming from Apt. 208 across the hall. He said he never got so much as a hello out of his neighbour, but nothing in recent days suggested crimes were being committed a few metres away.

“Believe me, if there were screams or anything I would have notified somebody, but he was quiet as a mouse, this guy,” he said. Looking out his back window, he had recently noticed the suitcase among the garbage bags in the back alley. “I was telling myself maybe I should pick that suitcase up. You know, one man’s garbage is another man’s treasure,” he said. “I’m glad I didn’t, but it looked too new to be in the garbage.”

The online video shows a naked male, tied to a bed frame, being attacked with both an ice pick and a kitchen knife, according to the description on a website called Best Gore. The victim is stabbed, has his throat slashed and is later decapitated and dismembered. The video was posted on Best Gore on May 25, but it is unclear when, or where, it was filmed.

“1 Lunatic 1 Ice Pick is without a doubt the sickest thing you will have ever seen in your entire life,” Best Gore writes.

At the end of the video, a photo is shown of a person dressed in a purple hooded jacket or sweater, leaning over while holding what appears to be an ice pick. His or her face is mostly obscured – the only details that can be made out are the individual’s light skin, dark hair of cheekbone length and a poster for the movie Casablanca on the wall.

Montreal police have issued a Canada-wide warrant for Mr. Magnotta’s arrest. Cmdr. Lafrenière said police had not recovered all of the victim’s body and have not been able to identify him. In addition to the torso in the suitcase and hand and foot found in Ottawa, other body parts were found at the apartment building, he said.

“It’s sick in the head,” he said of the crime. “I’ve been talking to investigators who have been doing this for more than 30 years, and they have never seen anything like that.”

Mr. MacKinnon, who earns money these days doing horror-movie tours for fans of the genre, was shaken by what had happened inside his own building. “I’m one of the most famous killers in the movies, and I’m in a building where this guy does it for real,” he said.

In the kitten thread, I think it was someone from Peta who mentioned that a person who kills kittens like he did poses as a risk to the public. Now we see how true that actually was. Perhaps the most logical and well-thought statement ever released from PETA.

the value of having access is that it evokes emotion, which intensifies one's feelings about the subject -- which is a good thing.

according to your logic, we should burn all the photos showing piles of dead Jews in Nazi concentration camps. what about the video from the vietnam war where the south vietnamese soldier executes the bound and defenseless viet cong suspect? or the video and photos of the Tibetan self-immolation?

Yes but you guys are basis this with absolutely no background story. You don't even know what motivated it. The only solid conclusion you can come to by what he said is that his curiosity got the best of him.... And that isn't a solid basis.

He then went on to explain the necessitation of it all. You then shut that down as well. Should shrinks and the likes not be allowed to listen to peoples problems? They hear a lot of fucked up shit all the time. Also a lot of them actively seek out stuff like this so they can try to better understand what makes people do the things they do.

Your logic was there was no logic, you just started assuming. Yes there is a huge difference between logic and assumptions.

but exposure to the unknown provides knowledge gain. you didn't watch it, and you are poorer for that.

i won't "shit on you" though, for ignorance is bliss.

I'm sorry, you didn't view A video (or photo or book), you viewed this particular video > on a subject we don't like? Oh man... You watch your killing/rape/necro/twisted movies and bash people for thinking there is something wrong with you?

Ah, you got me... watching this video makes people richer and more knowledgeable... They should put it on the news, as we all have so much to gain from it...

We all know sometimes we are curious and watch videos we shouldn't of mutilation, or someone sends you two girls one cup for the first time and you unknowingly get subjected to a scarring video.

But what I don't get is you read the thread and see the following "gay porno actor kills/chops up asian male while sexually pleasuring himself naked and then butt fucks dead body" and then watch it...

Why on earth anyone would even be the slightest curious to watch that is beyond me... and I've watched a lot of those sick videos (worst being those ukrainian kids who killed the hobo in the woods with a hammer)

I can understand why you don't see my point, seeing as you can't even communicate a coherent thought.

So, its ok to watch someone kill a hobo with a hammer as long as they dont jerk off while doing it? Damn, you guys should write a book with these rules, they are hard to keep straight!

Watching this video may make you a better person and more knowledgeable, but most people would see it as sick > I'm sorry you can't comprehend that...

Ya, I forgot some commas, and had an extra "your" in there possibly... that makes your viewing of this shit justifiable... you got me bro

Enough of this thread derailment from me

I watched it (not all of it) without knowing what it fully was. That was a few years back when that thread popped up in ask leo. Those kids started the same way as this guy, videos of killing innocent animals etc.

I would say that while although murder is horribly disgusting to watch. Adding in the chopping up limbs, jerking himself off and then fucking a dead corpse in the ass would probably tip it that much further over the edge.

I never said this. you either missed my point, or are purposely misconstruing it... either way, you are putting words in my mouth.

I don't give a shit what you are... Those people you mentioned (and are actively involved) have to watch it. You watched it because you wanted to... I'm pretty sure anyone given the choice to watch a murder, torture, rape, necro video or not would choose the later > unless they have issues, such as yourself...

Either way, you are confident it makes you a "richer" and more knowledgeable person, hence errchery's post > I was hoping we didn't have to spoon feed you that correllation lol...

I dont know if this was mentioned, but isnt this the same mother fucker who put a kitten in a bag and vacuumed all the air out, suffocating the cat? Then he posted the video on youtube...pretty sure its him.

If it is, i remember mentioning on the thread it was in "first cats, then humans"

Clearly, you and Tik-Tok have better morals than I do, and we all know that morality is a black and white thing and not open to interpretation.

Going back to my example. I would say the same thing to anyone I witnessed purposely putting their hand on a hot burner. I wouldn't expect them to call me a dickhead though, lol. Nor would I expect them to say I'm "poorer" for missing out on the experience.

If that's the case though, I suppose I'm poorer for never having watched a real rape video, or child pornography, and I'm pretty ok with that. :)

I don't know why some of you are jumping all over that guy who watched the video. On documentingreality.com, viewers of the video had figured out the name of the suspect before police even found any body parts. Extremely sick individual that now has a head start, but media worldwide has taken on the story and interpol is even involved. My guess is it won't be long until it shows up.

Just because you choose to not watch a video does not mean it didn't happen. Disgusting and unimaginable crimes are committed daily, watching a "crazy" video online out of curiosity does not mean the guy has moral issues, he/she just has just become more desensitized, which is pretty freaking easy these days. Wake up people, the world isn't a bed of roses, whether you watch it happen or not.

Word! Although video sounds disgusting, it seems that some of you are more disturbed that some dude watched the video... This is no place for moral judgment :drama:

A missing Concordia University student from China has been identified as the victim of suspected body parts killer Luka Rocco Magnotta, Montreal police said Friday.

Magnotta, 29, faces a first-degree murder charge.

Jun Lin, 33, was reported missing May 24, one day after a torso was found stuffed in a suitcase and disposed in a dumpster outside a Montreal apartment building.

Are we fucking serious? Just stop, you all sound stupid.

Glad someone made this point. The condemnations of him make it sound like he was boosting for the video.

Years ago, I came across a gore site - I spent some time perusing it's forbidden fruit out of a morbid fascination with things I simply didn't know existed.

I ultimately regretted it - To this day, there's some images I'll never get out of my head.

Really, I find it hard to make a case that there is any use to such resources.

Such mixed feelings here. I hate to advocate the shutting down of any site... and it's a slippery slope..

But I really don't know what use there is for such sites.

Moreso, I find myself wondering if they have any sort of encouraging influence on potential psychos.

I will admit, I am curious to see the video too, but every time I think about it, I just don't think I have the stomach to watch someone being killed in this manner. I mean, we have all seen videos of people that have died in car crashes, so this isn't much different except the means of how they died.

Is it morally reprehensible? absolutely! But I for one can at least understand FixedGear's curiosity and wanting to watch it, and will not judge him for it. For me, at least, the spoiler tag provided earlier was more than enough for me to know what happened in it, that I don't need to watch it.

my favourite part of about the video lots of news agencies named the site the video can be found. Both of my teens do headline news articles for school and between this one and the Miami face eater the kids are all fascinated. I am sure there are plenty of kids who have watched the video. The click here if your over 18 is not really a deterant.

My question is also...why was a lawyer from Montana even on such a site? Potential clients?

I actually didn't "watch" it, I just skimmed/skipped through the video in probably about 20 seconds. (I don't have the stomach for that stuff, either.)

I can't watch it, i'd be so depressed all weekend. I saw a deer convulsing on a road after it got smoked last night and got depressed lol... this would ruin me. Honestly though.. wtf, how can anyone do that shit? it's beyond my scope of emotion to understand. :banghead:
