View Full Version : Looking for Breakfast Bar Countertop Brackets

Installing a breakfast bar countertop on a pony wall and looking for steel brackets.

I want to avoid the use of corbels. Steel "L" brackets that attach to the studs, are under the drywall, then the counter sits on these brakets.

The overhang will only be about 12".

Anyone know if these can be bought locally?

Or know a welder that can weld these up for me?

Thanks for the link.

That would hold it up all right, but I want a NO CORBEL look to it, so the bracket is hidden, with no cross member support to the wall.

Does that even exist? To get any support you need the brace piece or you need the L to be made out of 1" thick steel.

Ahh.. missed that. Not sure where you'll find one that can support that much overhang, plus the weight of people eating at it.

I've sometimes used custom made wood brackets, 3 of them (depending on length of counter)... one at each end and one in the center.
