Never seen an Alfa Romeo before let alone one in the wild. Unfortunately this Alfa is FWD, still a cool car though. Sorry for garbage pics.

The interiors can be rather interesting as well, looks to be in decent shape for the vintage.

Interesting, a very rare import indeed.

Good spot

^Yeah, I didn't have much time to stick around which is the reason for the shoddy pics. From my cursory walk around I didn't spot any rust, major blemishes, or that sort of thing. Unfortunately I didn't think to get a pic of the interior as I was still in the "holy sh*t it's an Alfa" frame of mind but hopefully I'll see this car again when I'm not in a rush and take some more then. Would have loved to stick around and chat with the owner though.

^ I think most Alfa's were imported much more on a personal level. That being said I was about to ask if its sitting there since its waiting for parts. Most Alfa's are notorious for being cool looking & rare lemons. Without a dealer out here (or at the very least a Canadian supplier for parts) I wouldn't be caught dead with one.

I saw TONS of them when in Italy, sure are cool cars. Their new Spyders & MTO's are super cool. If they were more reliable I'd LOVE to have one here.

I saw this same car many years ago on a street just around the corner from where that pic was taken.

I think I saw this alfa once behind a shop up near edmonton trail. No I hadn't, I went to the Calgary Auto Show one year and they didn't have any there. I've also only seen like 4 Maserati's, but one was an MC12.

Well if I see it again I'll just bump this thread with interior pics.

I've worked on a couple 164s and spyders. I wouldnt say they are super rare, you just need to keep an eye out. Most are red, I've see a couple white ones too.

They are absolute crap, only a diehard italian wannabe douchebag would really want one.

There are special alfa's but the 164 is far from it.

There used to be a black one and a white one of these driving around the south end of the city.

I can sort of see why you'd want one in order to be different but I'd rather have a GTV or something. There are a handful of those on Kijiji a year.

A Spyder used to park near me when I was working up in the NE. It had the four-leaf clover logo (I forget what trim level that indicates, but I think it's an increased-power or upgraded-suspension model).

^clover is for "Quadrifoglio" which is generally reserved for the higher trims I believe.

Oddly enough I just came out of my new job and found a black Alfa Romeo Spyder Quadrifoglio parked near my car. I hope it's a good luck charm.

I have a Alfa Romeo Milano QV (Quadrifoglio Verde)
3.0 V6 from 1990

what a love affair and heart ache...

I actually had it stored in a barn in Winnipeg and I just had my mechanic buddy take it out and get'er ready to container over here

but wow... high maintenance car
valve lash adjustments every 20k
burns oil (they always do)
I've been stranded with broken CV's, torsen bars, bad coil, dead ECU, broken axel shaft... god you name it

but when she is running, she's alot of fun, has a very distinct tone

its a RWD 3.0L with a torsen bar front suspension (no coils)
Transmission is located in the rear of the car and the QV has a taller 3.73 rear end
Brakes are located in the middle of the independant rear end to limit its load on the suspension
lots of cool little things, like the gas tank located right behind the passanger seats, brembo pads, recaro seats, momo package (stock momo steering wheel, shift and wheels)
brake pedals are thing and close together

was designed to be an answer in some ways to the E30 M3... but a unreliable version... which also includes its sibling the GTV

through the years I'd had to replace just about everything... custom rad and water pump cause they're too small for the car
had to get the altinator rewired
had to buy a surplus of coils (cause they don't last)
got a aftermarket ECU
got cam's, header's and exhaust done, along with a CAI
put in 4 way koni red dampeners, newer thicker torsen bars, and lower eibach rear coils

but at this point.. I'd like it driving, but no way am I going to bother doing anything more (maybe a paint job)

the Milano was supposed to be the 75th anniversary car and the last RWD from Alfa

Is it crap as in "I'm a mechanic and I hate this car because it's stupid to work on" or crap because it's a crap car?

One of my favourite Alfas, the original GTV and GTV6
