Hey all!

A good friend of mine has decided to take an interest of his to the next level, and has become a radio broadcaster. He Finally went live with it a couple days ago, and is having a blast with it. He has gone the complete legal route with it as well, he now has a CRTC broadcast licence, and pays yearly for it so royalties are getting paid for the music he plays. It is still a work in progress, and he is looking for comments and suggestions! He operates it with the slogan of "no expectation of profit", does not sell advertising on it, nor does he have any sponsors. He does it because he likes it. (I don't believe this breaks the sponsorship rule of beyond, but if it does, feel free to delete it).

Here is his FB page (please be sure to like it!): Waltradio (http://www.facebook.com/WaltRadio)

or you can listen live here:

Thanks all!

Yeah, it is the Walt you are thinking of. He plays a lot of rock, east coast stuff. The library will be expanding soon as I will be putting together shows for his station as well.

cool, ive been listening to it, not bad at all. my suggestion would be to remove the country songs.

as soon as i heard country, i shut it off, but for me, i absolutely cant stand country, might be good for other people.

yeah, the music on there right now is totally cobbled together. I will be making a broadcast on it as well, and will be doing multiple genre set lists of ~20 songs each.

This is totally a work in progress, and consider yourselves all Beta testers.

on a side note, if someone else wants to contribute to a set list, I would be happy to take them down!

If you want to support some local Calgary talent of the same genre, try some Noel Johnson. It's a guy I know here in Calgary, he's great and sounds a lot like what this station plays.

I had to stop listening because of the quality, very treble-y and high pitched. Good music though, if the quality were better I'd try again. It could be my laptop but playing mp3 on it sounds much better.

alright gang!

Going to do another radio show this week!

Lets hear your input! and put up requests, going with a rock theme again. Please suggest songs similar to what I plan on playing.

general theme of the songs I am going to play:

Shine - Collective soul
Boneyard tree - watchmen
Little Bones - Tragically Hip
Otherside - Red Hot Chili Peppers

offer up a bunch of songs, and I will get things up and running!

Also, please be sure to like us on facebook @ facebook.com/waltradio as we use that quite a bit to do announcements.
