Hello, everyone, I'm new here, just wondering if anyone can help me with an advice for Saturn VUE. Has anyone here been driving this car before? It looks big, stylish with a reasonable price, but is it reliable? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

If you have to get one, you must get it with the 6. Useless without it.

I remember reading about the Saturn Vue Redline before. Is that out here? If so, then that's an awesome car. I say go for it!

not my cup of tea, I would rather have the new Maxda 3 wagon which is even cheaper and will get the job done just as well. If you really want a small SUV, you can get really good deals on other domestics (Liberty etc.)

enjoy the search

theres someone at work that has a saturn vue.. it looks pretty decent.. I'd get the bumpers painted the same color though.. How much are they running these days? Like 26ish? Thats not bad, and Im thinkin they have those dent resistant doors?

I think this car is in the entry level suv.. so like, honda crv, jeep liberty range?

Overall, it doesnt look bad to me. :D

I spent two weeks SUV hunting with a friend, the VUE was one of the options -- easily the worst of the bunch, but yes they are inexpensive.

He decided on a Jeep Liberty, tight little SUV.

I think the VUE Redline has a Honda 3.5L V6 in it thru GM/Honda deal signed back in the late 90s.

So you now can put "Power by Honda" sticker on your VUE without being rice.

I heard about that rumour, but I haven't been able to confirm it. Do you have any links? I know that the Saturn Ion Redline is a supercharged 2.2L Ecotec (GM engine). I find it odd that they'd put a competitor's engine in a special edition :dunno:

PS - this is what I heard from another forum:

Talked to a Saturn Rep at the Indy auto show today. He states that Honda needed a diesel for a coming model. They came to GM. GM said ok, what do we get out of it. They get the 3.5L engine. He told me it will be a multi-year deal, and GM can NOT put it in another rig. I hope to test it our this week. I will keep you posted.

If it's on C&D, it's 95% true.

Isn't Saturn where GM dumps all of their failed projects and dumps out a frankenstein POS and markets it as a new division?

I like Saturn's use of plastic door skins. They should also make the fenders out of the same material because fenders are also susceptible to dents.

Hahahahaha! That's my brother!

Honestly I like the VUE but heavy is right, they are POS's. Mechanically they suck, thats the prob.

You are right the V6 Vue optioned well is $34,000 (no negotiating) and a Forester XT can be bought for $34,500 with a 5 speed(just bought one!). There is no comparison in quality. The things I didn't like about the VUE on my 2 hour test drive was:
1. Really, really cheep interior quality, look and feel
2. Flat seats, no lateral support at all.
3. Noisy, took it on a gravel road and you need ear plugs!
4. Fake AWD, it is in FWD until slippage occures then transfers, and it made a lot of driveline noise everytime it transfered to RWD. And lots of torque steer.

About the only good thing about the VUE it is the Honda driveline!

The Jeep Liberty is a joke as well.
The Tribute/Escape disappointed me as well, must be the Ford influence shining through. It was cheep and underpowered.

The new Rav 4 is worth a look as it now has a 2.4 liter engine, really nice interior and pretty good exterior looks with hood scoop etc. Rides choppy and is noisy though.
Honda CRV has real AWD for 05 as well.

Good Luck

i believe that the 2003 and newer models of the vue have that honda engine in, not sure which one, but i saw it on tv, so i guess if you got a brand spankin new one or a one year old model you would have pretty much the same vehicle unless there were some style changes between the model years
