One of these is not working:
- Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600
- Asus P5B Motherboard
These were working before the system shut down:
- CoolIT Systems Eliminator water system
- 6GB RAM (2x2GB, 2x1GB) DDR2
- Thermaltake Tsunami Case in Silver
- Creative Labs X-FI Sound Card (SB0460)
- 500 watt mushkin power supply (modular)
My machine shut down suddenly while in use and I could not restart. I tried a new power supply, I removed everything except for the CPU and it would not power on at all. So I figure the problem to be either the motherboard, or cpu. I noticed a few caps on the board have expanded so I suspect it's a board.
I got fed up and bought a new cpu, board, memory and case.
Notable mentions:
- The Tsunami case had to undergo me ripping out one of the plastic clips that holds the PCI cards in (the case has a system to support one of those dual socket video cards.
- The power supply is modular but missing 1 of the PCI-E power cables. If your video card requires 2 of these to run, you will need a 4 pin molex to PCI-E power connector. (edit: found a 4 pin to PCI-E power connector)
