Hopefully those in the western parts of the city will keep us updated as to whether we need to find shelters for our cars.

Well it appears it has begun pre-maturely...

Up here around Dalhousie Station

Hail is about max of 1 cm in diameter, although within a few minutes the hail has subsided, and wow... as I am typing this the rain has gone down to a small trickle.

Perhaps this might not be the storm that was mentioned.

No thunder yet =P but I think i'll know who to talk to on beyond in the event there is!

Don't we get severe thunderstorm watches like twice a week every summer?

Constantly right up until after Stampede is over... Still waiting for a major electrical storm like the one we had in the middle of the night a few years back (or was that last year?). Love those! Though the hail storm we had in the NW was pretty intense on Sunday. Not enough thundering though LOL.

Not for Cochrane, Airdrie, Sundre or Red Deer.

Looks like we barely escaped this one.

West is fine. Remember weather systems usually form in the mountain region then move eastward. Which is exactly what this weather pattern is doing.

There is the radar. West is nice and clear, will be a gorgeous evening and a gorgeous Saturday.

Hopefully it stays farther north, just drove in from whitefish/fernie and there wasn't a cloud in the sky.

If you back into your parking spot and a severe thunderstorm watch/warning is issued you can run outside and jump in your car and gtfo much quicker to save your car.
