Cheap Wire Transfers

I need to transfer money to a US bank account, the thing is the big banks charge ridiculous fees of $30+ to do this.

I also noticed some other places offer wire transfer services, but they have minimums that are over the amount I want to transfer.

Do you guys know of any places that offer cheap wire transfers?

how about something like an email money transfer, whatever they are called?

I did money transfers between Japan and Canada and they always seem to have a flat fee, so even when we transfered close to 300k it only cost us $60 bucks for the wire fee. I know that xe.com has some money transfer options as well for smaller amounts. I made an account there and was going to use them for the transfer, but their limits were pretty small, like 20k or something, but I remember it was pretty cheap and you just had to put the wire information from both places in and it does it.

I use canadianforex (really ozforex) to transfer from AUS to BoA in the US and haven't had any issues, no charges on the US side either. Oanda has better rates but a higher transfer fee ($25 vs $15)

Easiest way is to have a HSBC premier account
