Both of my belts are squealing in my Nissan Xterra and Nissan Sentra (both 2005).

Does anyone know a good place that wont charge me the earth to replace these?

Also I was thinking of getting the timing belts replaced too because when ever I get a check up they tell me they cant inspect the belts for faults, any ideas how much this costs?

Xterra has done 105k
Sentra done 165k

Serp belts you should do yourself, it will literally take 10 minutes to do both.

T belts should be replaced according to the manual.... might not even be due yet??

Squealing accesory belts can be caused by various issues - oil leaks, set too tight/loose etc.... how long has it been since they were replaced?

most timing belt intervals used to be 60k miles, not sure what they are for newer cars tho.

Well my wife has had the sentra since 2005 and I see nothing in the service history about it being replaced before. The Xterra we bought in 2010 and it was at 60k when we bought it. I think the previous owner was slack about maintenance because the cabin air filter was original in the car when I changed it in 2011.

Nissan 75 point inspection for 2nd hand cars is pretty shite.

For my Mitsubishi, timing belts were 100k replacements. When I opened it, it was still clean and no cracks were present. You never know though.

Serpentines are easier than timing belt because it's exposed (mine is, at least).

Also, replace the water pump while you're at it. :)
