Forget Sainte Catherine, check it out once may be if you haven't been there, it's a bit over-hyped. Spend your day in old Montreal, spend your night on Saint Laurent.

asks for advice on a club as that is all they want to do, and you guys suggest hanging out in old montreal and eating hot dogs

i'm way too old for clubs, but back in 2000 when i first went there, Stereo was awesome. that place probably doesn't even exist now though.

Went to Cavalli recently and would not recommend it.

When I was out with Cos in Montreal, our waitress gave me a beer coaster with a bunch of good bars/clubs according to her; I'll just write what she has here. Didn't get a chance to check out any, next time (which is hopefully soon!).

- B-Side
- Macaroni bar
- Ballroom (St. Laurent)
- Rouge (Mont-Royal)
- Candi bar (Mont-Royal)
- L'abreuvoir (Saturday...something I can't make out)
- Foufounes electriques (St.Catherines)

The first two she must have liked because they have hearts beside them.

I used to go there all the time for metal shows... Shows would go to about 12am and then they'd kick us out and bring in the club crowd... so lame... but saw some awesome bands there....

I think if the OP hits up the Village he should do alright.

Well I'm from Montreal but honestly it's really hard to recommend anything without some kind of sense of direction. There are like 1000s of bars and clubs for different tastes so it depends what kind of place you like. Some places are franco, some places are full of Mcgill faggots, etc. I'm kind of out of touch with the club scene now anyways but know most of the places that chick recommended (mind you some are more of lounges or bars than clubs).

Didnt want to start a new thread.

Any suggestions for a lounge and clubs (hip hop/R&b) as I am heading there in a few days. People in our group are from 18-32 and looking for something trendy.

Suggestions?

All the nice restaurants on St Laurent Blvd turn into clubs after supper hours, it's super busy there. Pick one to have dinner there around 9ish (they eat late), stay there or go to a different one down the street. Go to Karmasutra after :D. Oh, Schwartz's there too, may be grab a sandwich earlier in the day. That's like 10 birds with one stone.

The university bar is Churchill good for a young crowd and cheap drinks, la boom had really cheap bottle service and 737 was closed when we went in January. But honestly, just stay at super sexe:poosie:

I asked my friend in Montreal where she'd recommend for hip hop/R&B. She said Radio Lounge is pretty popular but she likes Rouge Bar. Anything on St. laurent is pretty good but most are 18-20, under 25 anyways. I remember a few places on St. Denis were pretty good but mostly pubs.

Don't forget poutine at La Banquise!

What area are you guys staying in?

I guess I will venture down St. Laurent as that seems to be the general area.

I have heard of La Banquise but never been, its on my list.

We'll likely stay downtown.
