So I am having a hell of a time deciding on a new vehicle, but I think I have narrowed it down to a few options. So I am deciding between the following:

2013 Audi RS5 - 90k
2013 Mercedes C63 AMG Coupe - 73k
2013 Audi S4 - 70k
2011 Mercedes C63 AMG - 60k

What would you guys recommend, considering warranty, potential winter driving, re-sale, etc. I would preferably stay away from the RS5 due to cost, but after seeing them today, damn they're sexy :P

Please let me know what you guys think based on past/present ownership of these cars, looks, etc.

I know nothing about either but that 2013 Mercedes looks fucking awesome.

I voted RS5. Because they will be quite rare, and a head turner.

If you are looking for something that drives well in the winter, that is also covered. Beast MODE!

I'm surprised no M3 or 335is on the list just based upon the others, but either way you really can't do wrong :)

RS5! Sick sick car!

Yeah the C63 are more common, but performance wise they absolutely kill the Audi's. I have been test driving an S4 a lot lately and it is so slow compared to the C63... Hmm, I have to decide on this RS5 ASAP because there is only 1 left in Canada...

If you will be winter driving a lot I would go Audi... otherwise I would get the Merc!

C63 would kill an RS5?? or just S4?? If you have the money, jump on that last RS5 before it is gone and you might regret !!! ;)

If you go S4 route (I've been test driving the last bit) do remember you have access to stasis/GIAC tunes which pop you a good ~100hp more + 80 lb-ft torque for cheap cheap. Makes up part of that cost difference. I drove a statis tuned S4 month ago, while its not a roaring power beast like the M3 or C63 felt, it was noticeably faster than stock.

S4 & S5 no longer compete with AMG/M that is for the RS4 & RS5 to do. S4 would compare to a 335ix and C350. S4 at $70k though, that is $17k in options. :nut:

I voted RS5 though for rarity and awesomeness :burnout:

Your options are going to be either one of the top 2. S4, even flashed isn't going to be as fun as the RS5 or C63. I've been looking into similar cars as well(funny how we both have Ralliarts and now moving on to similar cars) and I've been looking at the TT-RS. But your space requirements might be different than mine. I am also looking at a Cayman S\R, but still undecided.

I'd get the C63 if you put a gun to my head. I never have liked the side profile of the RS5/S5/A5 platform.

Quattro will not fail you. Truth.

The RS5 will be way more fun in the winter than the C63. The C63 wins hands down in the summer, even tho I haven't driven the RS5 yet. Not enough tire, and too much TQ on the C63 is what makes it so addictive.

I'd say go for the C63 Coupe. That was my favorite car to drive at the AMG Performance Tour (http://www.beyond.ca/amg-performance-tour-stops-by-in-calgary/10245.html). Just make sure you get the LSD. If you don't spend the money on the APX performance package, a $1000 tune will get you as much hp as a C63 Black Series.

C63 sedan for practicality, speed and the cheapest option!

I know it may be a little off base, but I'm actually quite disappointed that Audi NA is not bringing the 2013 RS4 to North America, I would drop my sedan and go for the Avant right away. DCT and the revamped V8 is in my good books.

I'd still say the RS5, because of the year round performance the car can provide. C63 is such an addicting car to drive, but it is an insane machine for winter.

Keep test driving those cars and you'll know which one you want. In time...

Check out the massive understeer of the RS5:

http://www.topgear.com/uk/videos/jeremy-drives-the-bmw-m3-competition-and-audi-rs-5-part-2-series-16-episode-5

Also, who cares if the C63 is only available as an auto. I've been driving manual exclusively for the past 16 years and I don't miss it one bit. The auto in my car seems to know exactly what I am thinking. And I didn't think I would like the manual mode, but I do.

Aside from exclusivity, the RS5 doesn't seem like that great of a deal at 90k. I'd also easily get an M3 before the RS5. There's a reason why the C63's are everywhere: it's a phenomenal car. The end.

Must be nice being single. Who did you con into paying you that much?

I've seen way more S5's than C63's... S5's are a dime a dozen if you ask me. Get an M3 if you want a fun coupe. I still enjoy seeing the C63... even more so I love HEARING them. Nothing beats that exhaust.

The C63 sedan would be my choice for the money. Put some fresh shoes on it and your done.

How was your C63 sedan in the winter? Did it ever see snow? I am worried about the amount of power along with RWD in the snow, but if i get good winters im hoping itll be good enough.

Well you're gonna have to come take me for a ride in whatever you pick. I have to live vicariously through ballers like you.

Haha absolutely man, I am really leaning towards a used C63 Sedan. As nice as it would be to buy brand new, I do want a house in the near future as well lol

Well... He's talking RS5. If you want to go that route, W204 C classes are even more common, mostly driven by Asian moms and their daughters.

Yeah no doubt that the RS5 is going to be the rarest of all of them, but its also 2x the cost of a 2008 or 2009 C63, so I dunno if I wanna spend that much :P

It was fine. Lots of fun when roads are empty and TC off. Boring when stuck in traffic cuz I can't go sideways. Getting beat by civics off the line gets kinda old.

If you're concerned about resale then I would pick neither. How long do you see yourself owning this car?

Rage, what brand of winters did you slap on the BS C63? There was a cold snap we had last winter and my girlfriend's dad had some blizzaks on his IS-F and the car was still spinning like a mutha.

The only reason I'm asking is because I have quattro and just wanted to know how the BS or a powerhouse RWD in general held up during the cold months.

Buy used. I can't justify buying an expensive new car. Depreciation blows.

Anyway I really like the S4 when I test drove them. If I could just pick one car year round that would probably be it.

The BS barely sees rain. It's never going to see snow.

On my old C63, however, I ran Hankook IceBears. They're not the greatest winter tire, but they are the best in the dry (which is 90% of our winters). Plus it can handle most of the torques from the C63 haha.
