yes ive had guys on rigs with no licenses, but they had to rely on getting rides to the rig , just H2S and first aid is req.

With your spelling... send in that resume, you're perfect!

H2S course and I would get your TDG course too.

Tdg is usually company specific. H2S and first aid on the other hand are pretty generalized. So a bonus to have as previously stated.

Most companies will require you to have at least your normal class 5, if you need to drive company vehicles at all, for insurance purposes i believe.

Good luck

I see no reason a rig won't hire you. The service side probably would if they're short handed, but they'd be pushing you to get rid of the GDL asap, and carry right on into your class 1. The rig really just needs it's guys to have H2S, WHMIS, maybe first aid. Truckers (which pretty much the entire service side is) need things like TDG, dangerous driving, maybe confined spaces and the like. I personally liked services more (similar money, better working conditions), but that's just me.

I had GDL for the two years of rigging. I just had it taken off for my new career in the rigs (driving 70,000KM+ year with the new job). They wanted it off for insurance reasons on the company truck

We've got a few guys working for us that don't have it.
You'll get the shitty jobs though if your in town.
If your out of town then it won't matter, someone else there will drive the trucks.
Usually anyway

I've worked with many guys without drivers licenses. Worked in Grande Cache with guys from Kamloops. They usually greyhound to the closest towns and just get rides from the other riggers.

There are no spelling mistakes in his post. Grammar and word selection on the other hand, not so good.
