I have seen quite a few around. Don't know if any are for sale. Most are garage queens though as you only see them in the summer.

There is a Sky Blue w/ plum interior convertable here in McKenzie Lake. Purchased from my dad in the early 90's.

I've seen a few around here... One of my favorite Porsches  I think they've kept thier value fairly well. I wouldnt be surprised if a 968 were in the range of 25-30 thousand.

It was cool when I first saw the car. But I heard it's plagued with tons of motor problems. A great smokeshow.

Plus I heard the owner shittalks everyone, but refuses to race...

Back to the original question. How does it drive?

A stock 968 drives like a 944 S2. The car's pretty much mechanically the same, except for minor upgraded suspension pieces. They basically just changed the 944 body to create the 968. Sitting inside the car, you can't tell if you're in a 944 or 968, since the interior is 100% identical (other than the shiftknob which shows 6 speeds).

968's are fairly overpriced for the amount of car you're getting. I'd choose a 944 turbo S over a 968 anyday.

The 968 has more Hp that the s2 thought doesnt it? quite a bit more if im not mistaken. why were so few 968 turbo's produced? Was it even a factory made turbo car? That yellow one above is super nice why all the engine problems though? Your 951 seems to run flawlessly rage

The 968 had 240hp, 944S2 had 211hp. Performance between the 2 were nearly identical. Maybe the 968 motor was overrated? Or the 944 S2 was underrated? The 944 turbo had 250hp and easily outran both cars.

968 Turbo S's (real ones) were very rare. Only 15 were made. The factory 968 Turbo S's made 305hp. The car pictured above was a custom built car using Motec Standalone ECU.

The 968 above had sleeves put in, and uses JE pistons. There has been varying success in the 944/968 community using this setup (under 50%) because JE has been providing incorrect ring gap specs for it's 944/968 turbo cylinders. That and not many people know how to tune a Motec system in Calgary. My motor never experienced any problems because I ran a 2.5L stock block with stock internals.

I driven a few at the track, the 6 speed shift gate is a little vauge, other than that is like a 944 with a few tweaks in bushings etc. it can be hard to find the right gear during hard corners.

they will run door handle to door handle with a stock 951 (early lower hp engine)

the variable valve timing and F1 tech intake (the plenum is filled from both ends by a tuned tube that splits air just behind the throttle) make the 968 seem like a different engine than the 944s2
