Hey all,

Just wondering if I can get some help wring a 10" Type E Alpine sub. Is this amp (Pioneer GX-X424) capable of making this happen? Some of my buddies are claiming it will only work for running speakers but I'm sure I've run a previous sub with a similar amp, I just can't remember how I wired it.

Basically, I'm confused with the whole theory behind bridging. I understand where to wire the power, ground, RCA cables and power control, but when it comes to connecting the sub, which two inputs am I suppose to use???

Also, should I have the switch turned to 2 channel?

If anyone could shed some light that would be great.

Here's a pic of what I'm looking at.

It doesn't bridge down to a single channel. Are you just running one subwoofer?

You would want it switched to 2 ch. Because it's a 4 ch amp you're only going to be using 1/2 of the amp when you bridge 2 of the channels and run the sub. This amp only has a low pass filter on channel A so use the two terminals that have the diagonal line connecting them in the pic for channel A ( R+ on the top left and the R- on the bottom, second from the left).

If you set it up like that it will work, but the power output of that amp is low for that sub so you might not be thrilled with the results.

Awesome thanks that's what I was thinking but wasn't sure.

And yes just running one 10". Not looking for crazy bass or anything just want to improve the sound quality.
