This was kind a shot in the dark as I met with my mom to have lunch somewhere new. We usually meet for supper or lunch once a week with my older bro. He's in Toronto, so the two of us tried out this place which is a block from where i live.
First off, their details
Belmonts Diner.
2008 33 Avenue Southwest
Calgary, AB
403-242-6782
The LONG wait times to get a seat told me this place is a venue worth waiting for.
Not surprisingly, everything is under $15/ entree (what I seen, one or two may have been more).
(I should have taken a pic of the outdoor billboard)
but its literally one door east of Fergus & Biks.
(Dont eat at Fergus & Biks, the prices are through the roof, instead go to Original Joe's just one block south. $10/ bottle of somewhat premium beer is stupid, same with $25/average for a simple entree)
Here is what the Diner looked like.

Its pretty damn small in there, to the right of the pic are more booths, but I took a pretty rushed pic with my Iphone, just because most people really dont like photographed without their permission.
I ordered the
Huevos Rancheros.....$10.50
A flour tortilla topped with salsa and two soft basted eggs, tomatoes, green onions
and melted cheese. Served with endless hashbrowns and endless toast.

Sorry I dug into it before remembering to take a pic

^ She had the Cody scramble.
The food was delicious, and came out FAST. I think we were waiting about 10min for the food to come out after ordering. The portions were great. Everything was seasoned incredibly well.
Even though its quite noisy in there (as most packed diners are) was quite impressed.
My only bitch was the service. Its so busy & packed in there they cant fit in more servers, and our waitress (that big girl in the white) was helping with the cooking, waiting, and everything else. I shouldn't complain that she didn't stop by once after giving us our food, but it was annoying waiting there like bumps on a log for her to come around, which she didn't. I had to go up to the "bar" to pay the bill.
All in all I'd give it a 7-8/10, and definitely would go back, just not on a very busy weekend. Waiting 30min for a table wasn't much fun.
