Question for either Justin or anyone with a Tissot.

I am going to be looking at a Seastar on Friday but I have been reading about a lot of issues on various forums. Have the issues with the chipping or discoloring bezel or with it being fast or slow been solved by Tissot since last year?

Also, I assume that both the chrono and non-chrono versions can be equipped with the SS band?

Also going to be looking at the PRC 200 chrono/non-chrono.

I haven't had any of my customers come back with issues with the Seastar bezels or auto movements, but I'll email Tissot to find out if they've gotten a higher number of warranty claims on the Seastar.

Yes, both the auto and auto chrono's are available with either the rubber or stainless steel straps.

Brand new from Tissot is the Le Locle COSC.
The all automatic Le Locle line has been offered for a few years now and with its classic style and easily wearable 39mm case size, it's been a huge success (I wear one :))

New for 2012 however, is a chronometer certified Le Locle.
In a nut-shell, from the COSC website:

A chronometer is a high-precision watch capable of displaying the seconds and housing a movement that has been tested over several days, in different positions and at different temperatures, by an official neutral body (COSC). Each chronometer is unique, identified by a number engraved on its movement and a certification number given by the COSC.
Each movement is individually measured. Any watch with the denomination "chronometer" is provided with a certified movement.

Forbes magazine wrote an interesting article about the new Le Locle:

Continuing with our theme of new releases, this month we have the brand new Tissot PRC200. The PRC200 has been a staple of the Tissot line for years and I’m sure many Beyonders are familiar with the previous model.
The new design is an evolution of the original and retains key features such as sapphire crystal glass and 200 meter water resistance.

On the three hand quartz, the 39mm case size is unchanged but the bezel is now thinner so the watch appears to be larger.
http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s42/justing1018/lightbox_PRC_200_Gent_T055_410_11_047_00_GL_jpg_zpsdddf0bb5.jpg
MSRP: $450

The quartz chronograph has been enlarged to a more modern 41mm case size, while retaining the elegance of the original.

Announced at this year's Basel show, we will finally be receiving the much anticipated Tissot Squelette late next week!
This unique timepiece offers a modern take on the traditional look of skeletonized movements. The design, inspired by a wheel (Porsche Turbo twist anyone?), combined with the brushed 43mm steel case, gives the watch an industrial feel not often found with skeleton designs. With its hand-wound movement, the Squelette is beautiful blend of traditional watch making and contemporary design.

The PR 516 is a throwback to the original, first launched in the 1960’s as a tribute to Tissot’s passion for motorsport.
Today the design is almost identical but in a more modern 40mm case size. The watch features floating indices, a strap that mimics the style of driving gloves and a transparent case back showcasing a steering wheel design.
The PR 516 is an attractive and truly unique watch that embodies the spirit of the iconic original.

I just wanted to say thank you, the staff at your store are fantastic. I came in the other day with a problem on my PRS200. The calibration was off and I needed help. I had not purchased my watch from you, but that was of no concern. An awesome friendly woman helped me out. 5 minutes later I was recalibrated and very happy. You will get more of my business.

I noticed you sell Charriol jewelry. I have a Charriol watch, that I have owned since 1995. I believe it is called the Celtic II. It has never had any kind of service just battery changes. Should it be serviced? If so do you handle it in house or is the watch sent back to Phillipe Charriol?

Statick, just finished up a 3 hour meeting with the country manager for Tissot. :nut:
Anyways, sounds like there has been a slight delay on the solar powered touch line. The official launch will be in Basel, but they will be pushing for worldwide delivery shortly after. (Hopefully summer 2014)
No news on the sea-touch being solar, but I'll update you when I see the pieces in Basel! ;)

In other news, there will be a feature on Tissot tomorrow morning on CTV Calgary at about 8:30am if anyone is interested in tuning in!

This 44mm watch features the ETA made C01.211 automatic chronograph movement and makes a bold statement with it’s very modern and sporty design features. The case is a mixture of brushed stainless steel and black PVD in various textures with splashes of colour to match the strap.
Overall, the new PRS 516 Extreme is a great addition for Tissot and a great option for a lover of sports watches!

Hey Justin,

Any new offerings lately?

Or alternatively, is the Seastar Chrono still being offered?

Sorry Fraser, missed your post yesterday!

Yes there is something new to post!
The new PRC 200 automatic has FINALLY arrived in Canada. The new model features the 'Powermatic 80' movement that Tissot introduced last year.
As the name suggests, the movement offers an impressive 80 hours of reserve.
Really great looking watch and extremely versatile!

MSRP: $700

And yes, the Seastar auto chrono is still being offered:

Damn, they went up in price from a year or two ago:banghead:

Might as well shoot me a price for the Seastar in chrono and non-chrono. I assume the color choice doesn't impact price?

Justing

I just checked the price list from 2012-2013 and the Seastar prices haven't changed. :dunno:
No, colour choice makes no difference, however the steel strap is $20 more then the rubber.
I'll pm you with your pricing, thanks!

Statick, The solar powered t-touch expert has been officially launched!

Pic is from the models I saw at Baselworld:
http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s42/justing1018/IMG_20140331_143232_zpsf684b1c3.jpg (http://s149.photobucket.com/user/justing1018/media/IMG_20140331_143232_zpsf684b1c3.jpg.html)

We're told July launch for Canada, which realistically means August. It comes in 6 different strap/colour combos, I have all 6 on order.

No news on the sea-touch line yet, however they are also launching a ladies solar t-touch classic, so my best guess is that the rest of the tactile line will be given the solar treatment gradually. I'll keep you posted!

Our next featured Tissot is the Visodate.
First launched in the 1950’s, the modern Visodate is an homage to the original and takes many of its styling cues from its predecessor. With a case size of 40mm and a domed sapphire crystal it fits nicely on the wrist and under a shirt cuff.

MSRP: $695

A recent addition to the line is the Visodate Milanais. This beautiful stainless steel mesh strap lends well to the vintage styling of the Visodate and makes for a very unique and striking watch.

That would be nice. Hopefully they make it in titanium.

I've got the current Sea Touch that I wear on weekends. It's quite thick and heavy being made from steel. It's currently on the factory rubber, but I used to own one with the metal bracelet and hated wearing it due to the weight.

This week we are featuring the Tissot Heritage Navigator Automatic
COSC 160th Anniversary watch.
Tissot celebrates its 160th Anniversary with a piece first created for
its centenary in 1953, which reflects its love for new horizons.
The Tissot Heritage Navigator is the ultimate traveller’s watch, as it
will allow you to view 24 time zones at a glance. It’s also extremely
precise as it features a COSC certified ETA 2893-3 movement.
This is an extremely handsome watch and at under 10mm thick, it’s quite
impressive what Tissot has been able to accomplish with the Heritage
Navigator.

Building on the success of the T-Complication Squelette that was launched in 2013, Tissot has released a dressier alternative in the Chemin des Tourelles Squelette.
Tissot uses the same manual wind ETA 6497-1 movement as the Squelette, but the Chemin des Tourelles showcases this beautiful movement in a softer, less mechanical way. At 42mm, the rounded case and thinner lugs also add to the dressier appeal of the new addition. By using smartly designed bridges and plates, Tissot has found a happy medium between showcasing the movement while allowing for high legibility with a skeletonized watch.

Speaking of the solars, any word on a solar Sea-Touch yet?

Also, Faraz needs some wedding bands and Gil needs an engagement ring... I've told both of them to be in touch with you, but they might be lollygagging, so don't hesitate to touch base with them to see where their heads are at. The brother especially needs to get on it as he is working on a truncated timetable.

I trust all else is well with you guys and the business

As an extension to the Chemin Des Tourelles squelette line, Tissot has introduced a range of new models to the collection.
